You make me feel better about a dire situation, but in all honesty, we are in trouble. Take two of the best midfielders in the world out any team and it's a problem. For all Spurs' flaws, they are a very quick, explosive team, and without Martin leading the press, we might be in trouble at their gaff. I personally think Arteta will go a different way, ignoring the press, sitting deep, and trying to exploit Spurs' high line. IMO, that's the only way we get a result as our team is very well drilled defending as a unit. I wouldn't hold out hope of getting a result though, unfortunately.
I love the idea of martinelli up top, or him and trossard switching throughout the game (Havertz in odegaards position. Gabi deserves a chance in a different position, especially at a time when there is an especially weak left sided midfielder to support him and likely timber or calafiori will start and play more defensively because rice is out.

Strong analysis. Just disagree with the last bit I.e. nobody else is. I’d argue city have done it. The way you have very high quality bench players is by constantly rotating them so the players left on the bench are different. This is the next phase that arsenal would need to reach to a) get through challenging injury phases b) keep the team fresh in the business end with the schedule requirements.
True, they do have better depth, but the like-for-like replacement thing is a myth. They adjust their shape accordingly. If Ødegaard's absence wasn't exacerbated by Rice and Merino, we'd be more confident about dealing with it, as we did last season the few times he was unavailable.
I can see Timber being the key man tomorrow. I think he'll play in midfield with Zinchenko at LB. I think they'll alternate between LB and CM, and this will bamboozle Spurs. It could bamboozle us also, but I think Timber steps up and delivers.
It's not about replacing it's about getting a back up, learn the difference. KDB is 33 going on 34 & currently on his last year of his contract (he'll probably extend for max 2 years) but City are looking at Wirtz & Musiala as replacements. On the other hand City also have Foden, Bernardo Silva & now McAtee & Gundogan as backups / to play along side him. If you don't understand the importance of a squad then you'll never win a title again.
Have a feeling it might be the usual back 5 (Timber LB), Partey deep, Havertz left mid, Saka in the Odegaard role, Sterling right, Jesus up front and Martinelli left. Trossards been great but I have a feeling Arteta will want a lot of pace to support Partey and Havertz there
Yes you can't replace him but we really need another creative midfielder. The team is struggling with offensive play. Lack of cover for Odegaard os costing us. Imagine if Saka also gets injured.
is a pity that having a difficult fixtures and gundogan returning to city did not push us to go and replace the players we sold, going into a very long season with out a second 10and 8 is crazy, this is the club gaslighting us that we will challenge, if the board and the owners will not support arteta and give him the players he needs, is another wild goose chase
I think Trossard could also be great in Odegard's role. He uses both his feet and doesn't lose the ball. Eye for a pass and scoring when needed. Give him a start is my call. Jesus could also be back...master of chaos. Let's not forget we now have Sterling who has played LW, SS, AM, RW and Striker. We have enough cover.
Only thing about Trossard in the midfield I don’t like is his defensive work rate. Odegaard does a lot for our defensive shape and I don’t think Trossard would give the same. Going forward I agree, Trossard would likely ball out like Odegaard does.
@@mattvarner5825 When Odegard was out last season for 4 games, who did we start? I really can't remember but I do feel we are better equipped this time round. Deffo not a like for like replacement and with Decs out its going to be a nervy NLD.
"This" is not annoying, ARTETA is. He leaves the squad thin every season and when he doesn't, be sidelines, loans or sells his specialist players. Simply put, Arteta loaned out our only specialist leftback last season and teams attached on the left side. The season before, he sidelined the same leftback and lost the league then too. He didn't learn. Instead, he doubled-down. This season, he sold the team's only other No.10 - Emile Smith-Rowe Rowe, who may be better at that role than Odegaard. Arteta also sold the team's only striker - Nketiah. However, before selling him, he sidelined him. Our 5th place finish and then two consecutive 2nd place finishes are all because of Arteta 's prejudices and stubbornness.
Since Dr. O'Driscoll left Arsenal and joined Man-U, we have less injuries and Man-U has more...! The majority of Arsenal injuries happened during International breaks.
No-one's asking for an Odegaard clone (that would be silly), just a ball dominant 8 good enough to rotate in an out of the team. You can't tell me a Baumgartner, for instance, wouldn't be happy to play in the 8 positions for Arsenal. If you don't think we can do that then maybe lower your expectations around winning keagues and CLs
I want nwaneri should get his chance and it's just the risk I think we need, if not why promote him to the first team if he isn't ready for games like this
Partey and Saka as a central midfield pair out of possession?! Are you having a laugh, Alex? That's poor from you. From the available senior midfielders we have, it can ONLY be Havertz or Jorginho partnering Partey. Lewis-Skelly or Salah are alternative options from the Academy, but unlikely given the magnitude of the fixture. Fans have been talking up Nwaneri all week but If it were up to me, I'd have Lewis-Skelly come in for Rice, Havertz in where Odegaard plays (he's just had two consecutive international games playing this role so has the momentum), and then G. Jesus as the CF. This way, we maintain our off the ball press from the front and also have CREDIBLE central midfield profiles playing in central midfield.
the biggest reason why I didn't wanna see vieira leave, imo he's our best alternative in the odegaard role, maybe with havertz comparable, but not having havertz as our striker feels like a massive downgrade
He’s too inconsistent and only turns up against the smaller teams. He started off strong in the beginning but surely arteta has his reasons he didn’t give him much mins
Great insight. But disagree with ur take on Smith Rowe. While he was with us he was only limited by injuries n the form n consistency of Odegaard. This is a situation where Odegaard is not n won't be available n we have sold Smith Rowe for "pure profit". Emile world have been very very ideal for shituations like this. But we've done what we've done n we're now where we are. If fans r losing their heads now then pray for Saliba, Havertz n Saka.
What we ask the left 8 to do out of possession took Rice months to learn. Timber is not going to pick it up in 2 weeks and play effectively enough for it to work.
Man City hearings begin next week. I have a feeling that City will have points deducted, but Arsenal will still miss out on title to either Liverpool. Spurs or Villa. My reasoning; So far this season our form has been poor compared to last season. Our pressing has been way off in comparison to most of the rest of the Premier League, we are wasteful in front of goal, and there have been numerous defensive mistakes. If they had had their shooting boots on, Villa could have beaten us, due to defensive errors, Brighton scored due to a defensive error. Declan Rice and Odergarrd have both been well below the standards they set last season. Now we have a really tough set of games to come, and injuries to key players including new signings, and Rice is suspended. Without a lot of extremely good luck, we could soon be several points down on our chief competitors for the title. Just saying.
No points will be deducted from City. They have a building full of lawyers to beat these charges. Sitting and hoping the system fixes the issue for us, or that Pep leaves (or dies) is absolutely bonkers. We need to build our own monster team to beat them on the field.

I have to disagree with the idea that having world class players in our squad means giving up on ever getting adequate backups when faced with injury. Call me crazy or revisionist but a certain fabian ruiz was available on loan with an option to buy whos able to cover 6, 8 and 10 at a higher standard than our current backup options in Jorghino and whoevers playing the 10 this sunday. I get that people say merinos injury was unpredictable but imo 2 midfielders were always needed in the summer let alone the front line bolstering we never really got. For me it comes down to mismanagement of funds, especially if u go with the arguments that arsenal are "cash strapped" or apprehensive of breeching psr restrictions that seem to be so popular amongst our fan base when defending our subpar summer window. The continued outlay on new gks year on year on top of countless underwhelming signings in terms of profile like viera (physically incabale of imposing himself in the prem), kiwior (lacking regularity at cb forcing us to play him lb where not technically sound enough to invert), havertz (bought as a big money left 8 and was completely out of his depth forcing us to play him up front where perfomances have indeed improved but still dont justify £65 outlay and top earner status when compared to other summer target kudus who cost half as mcuh) or even jorginho (lack of mobility/off ball "duel" winning) means that we always end up buying twice and take twice as long to fix clear holes in our squad.
And nor should he,he may well be up to it but we’re up against the big boys for the next month and being overwhelmed in those games could damage his development.

That plus Wenger's crazy longterm team selection creating the most multicultural squad....get every post 1999 born player all wearing a 2004 O2 jersey....all hail Arsene!!!
It's SO SIMPLE. Arteta needs to have a team meeting in which they discuss international play. If they want to beat the bionic Mancunian robots team they need to put their international play on the backburner this year until 2026, until the national teams start ramping up for the world cup in the beginning of 2026. Not asking them to quit or anything extreme, just stop playing the full 90 in two matches from an international weekend - which would result in him playing 90 min 5 times in 16 days. No problem, though. He won't have to play all those hundreds of minutes since he's already fucking hurt.

Bruh this is hilarious!!! Am watching this in Uganda, it's 7:30pm. I wish you guys would see my view. Am literally on the side of a mountain...and this has made Martin out of the team funnier....manz timed the first comment.😂😂😂 this is why I am a gonner!!!

If Arsene was given this squad, he would have won at least 2 trophies in the last 5 years..
Guys the only thing we can do is just pray to God for a miracle
All I hear is Odegaard is amazing off the ball… and average on the ball.
Amazing at both
@@morgan3714 What’s amazing?
@@KnightHQ off and on the ball
@@morgan3714 In other words, you can’t explain why
@@KnightHQ oh are YOU saying that he’s average on the ball?
Blud Ethan fits in that pocket well instead of Saka and Saka instead of Sterling
