Hi! :) Thank you so much for your videos. I have a question with the weighted average; The weights don't add up to 1 here (0.949+0.0429=0.9919), and I learned that if that's the case, we have to divide all the produts by the sum of the weights. So I divided your result by 0.9919 which gives me 32.06. I know it seems like a detail but it would really confuse me on exam day to have none of the proposed results, and it would lead me to believe I'm using the wrong technique. In case of percentage like this, unless blatantly obvious, should we assume that the weights add up to 1?
Excellent question! I based mine on a GED Ready problem where they round off the values with the assumption that the sum of the weights is 1, so that’s a great assumption to assume!

@@AbdulRehman-cs7tf Yup, if they ask for the "mean" or "average" then you'll add them up and then divide by how many there are. Only if it's a "weighted average" do you multiply and then add 👍🏼
Good question - this one's different since it's a "weighted average" so it's different than just finding the average normally. You'll have to multiple each by their percent and then add them together. #2 here on my website is a practice question like this: www.getsummath.com/practice-test-questions
Good question - to find the temperature change, it'll be: final temperature - initial temperature So for the 2nd values, it becomes: 36.1 - 38.4 = -2.3 So there was a decrease in temperature between those years. But, since the 2.5 and 3.3 are positive, those were increases in temperature from 2021 to 2022. Hope that helps 🙏🏼
