Dude, you have done some excellent research! That Sera filter wool is superb. I have used it in all my HOBs and Lustar box filters; I love it! When you mentioned that it wasn't the regular WalMart stuff, I instantly knew you were referring to Sera. I used to buy mine from Doc Foster & Smith b4 they went out of business. Now, Amazon takes most of my tank money👍🏾. Also, Thanks for the measure/cut tip on the poret foam. When I go big on my next set of tanks, that Eheim will be my go-to canister and/or a sump🤷🏾♂️.

Nice video. Quick question, wouldn’t the 20 ppi Poret go in first before the 10 ppi?
If You want to do it that way it's fine... But My thinking is Poret foam sheet would clog up faster with smaller pores first... I get more time between cleaning and water flow don't slow down as quick... I hope that makes sense and answer your question... Thanks for watching

Do you think this filter would be overkill for a 55 gallon, single adult sized aquatic turtle?
Would it be ok to put the eheim mech in a filter bag or is it better to leave it loose
