I came across your work on making magnets and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed! Your attention to detail and creativity in creating such beautiful pieces is truly admirable. I am particularly interested in the materials you use for making these magnets. Would you mind sharing with me what mass you use? I am curious if it's clay or some other kind of material. Thank you for sharing your incredible work with the world.
Omg thank you so much for your kind words, it made my day! I’m thrilled to hear that you found it impressive! I used air dry clay from the brand Crayola. I believe I bought it from Walmart. I find air dry clay to be an easy medium to work with. The only downside is that it’s fragile and can break if dropped😞 If we want to make more durable fridge magnets, we can use polymer clay or some other type of clay that isn’t as prone to breaking. Thankfully, these air dry clay magnets are still holding up well! Also I coated them with a layer of polyurethane varnish to protect the paint. Please let me know if you have any questions!☺️❤️
Hey This Is So Cute, i freaking love them, I even try making them and they looking so cute, I'm obsessed with it, thank you so much for thia tutorial 😍❤️🥰
Hi! These magnets are still holding up pretty well, it’s been a few years ❤️ Just make sure you coat them with an acrylic paint varnish, and they’ll last a long time. 😍💖
Hi! We don’t have to bake air dry clay. We can let them naturally dry for at least 24 hours before we start colouring. If we plan to use polymer clay instead of air dry clay, then we need to bake 😊
Thank you so much Claire! I’m so happy you liked them! I don’t have an online store yet but I would definitely love to set up one in the near future!😍♥️
Hi Priyanka 🙋🏻♀️I coated them with polyurethane varnish. I used the varnish from Decoart in satin finish. We can also use any other water based acrylic varnish ❤️
Hello! The air dry clay is holding up quite well as of now and the polyurethane varnish is protecting the paint but the only thing about air dry clay is it breaks if it’s dropped accidentally ☹️..however if we want something more durable I would recommend going for oven bake polymer clay ❤️
Hi Radhika!💝 I used Air dry clay to make these magnets. After the clay dried, I painted them with acrylic paint. To seal and protect the paint I applied a coat of polyurethane varnish. Finally I attached button magnets to the back of the air dry clay pieces ❤️✨
