It would take Victor Wooten playing the bass, and Herbie Hancock playing another piano for the universe to implode

When you don’t have any real traditional jazz language or phrasing, it is easier to play random sequences or playing “out.”
Playing the blues traditionally such as Meade lux Lewis, prez, or Fatha Hines is no easy feat. Playing the blues in a bebop style is also demanding as it it requires players to know the music precisely that precedes and displace phrasing. Now the newer crop of musicians want to play jazz but why is everything reharmonized or played outside of conventional norms?
The answers lie in when these players actually try to play a bebop tune and try to phrase and play in .... they can’t , they totally bypassed this stage and went straight to the modern stuff ....
Smoke and mirrors, not buying it ....

jacob can do lovely straight-ahead bill evans-style jazz and corey has demonstrated his traditional gospel roots frequently. I think maybe you are a bebop fan just looking for bebop and upset that it's not there
