Nonetheless, Haley Reinhart was astronomically far more talented than both of them and is the true winner of American Idol that season as far as adults are concerned.
His voice is rare to come by these days most "country" singers don't have the deep voice and let me tell you back in the days where country music was actually something good he wouldn't have made it far because he wasn't different. But times have changed and things aren't the same his voice is a diamond in the rough. Hers is good I'm not saying it isn't it's beyond beautiful but he was a change in scenery (for lack of better terms).
Its kind of crazy how much BETTER Alaina is than Scotty here --- Alaina just blows him out of the water but the tween girls love Scotty so he won --- at least Scotty has gotten much better with age --- no one will ever ever top Carrie
If you saw Carrie and Randy Travis singing this song, you might also say 'wow carrie blows him out of the water' but it doesn't make Randy Travis any less of a great country singer. Different styles, both excellent.
I think they are both great but Scotty won because he is so unique almost weird. But he has somthing that makes me want to keep listening to. I don't know anyone like him and I can't explain what it is that attracts me. but I think what Lauren has is discribable.

It doesn't come near that utterly brilliant Jazz performance of Moanin by Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams in idol 10. Switching lead, harmonising, scatting, runs, embellishments, changes of tone - a fabulous virtuoso performance. Possibly Adam could have the ability for that, but none of the others. I was expecting some high belts from Alison in places especially at the end for a climax but she never went there. Even Ryan was excited about it. Their other Idol duet "I Feel the Earth Move" I would also place above Adam and Alison. It's more a Rock number, also done superbly although it's not so unusual as Moanin. Just before the end Haley throws in one of those very high belts, almost an exuberant shout, that she can do so well without the voice losing tone and becoming thinner. They really add to the mood of a Rock song.

Nah. She's better off singing as she does with Casey Abrams and Scott Bradlees Post Modern Jukebox. She's really good with all of them. You should listen to her singing with them, they do tours as well.
