They certainly can be calibrated! There’s are balance screws on the unit that can adjust.

they are made the same way and are not intended to be used in lock mode as you imagined, you jumped a little to conclusions in the 3 min video. that locking is primarily made to protect the optics from too much shaking and inertial shocks and all devices are self level type based to be in line with the gravity of the earth and NOT with their own housing so you use the old model carpenter's winkle man. for nothing, you accused the first company of making a bad product just because you don't know how to use that device!!!!

I get that. How ever it makes perfect sense to have laser locked parallel to the case it is in. Why they aren't made this way is mind blowing to me. It's so obvious that it should be like that.

lock mode or manual mode is for manual leveling. do not expect for an accuracy....

Yeah I think it is the manual mode you are interested in rather then the lock mode. You might do a revised version of this video to stay in check.

so these cheaper lasers may only lock for the self leveling mechanism protection. klein and bosch turn off while locked but will override when holding button down... still learning about them all and comparing features before i buy

2:53 Oh man you use a nail clipper as your main tool to fix a hi tech tool to work the way you imagine a tool should work ooooo that is the master piece ever I have seen in videos.... AND BEFORE YOU BUY A LASER LEVEL LEARN FIRST! what type of laser do you need and how does it work and for what job is each one most often used, then make a video (you have 6 types of laser level)

      Thanks for you comment.
Try to use grammar next time so I can actually make sense of what you're saying.

I have one of those. Different brand, but the same. Just checked it and it really wasn't parallel with the case. But, to be fair I've been using it for 2 years and never noticed. I do use the feature, but I guess never did I need anything more than a straight line. Leveling works though. The only issue I have is that the line is pretty restricted. Definitely worth getting a 360 or at least one like the Dewalt with slanted glass.

Isn't the lock mode just for transporting? That it ist peddling by transport and causing potential damage

Too bad you're right..just for transporting.

I feel like you’re saying that either all laser levels don’t do what you want or that every Amazon laser level is a piece of shit. Watch mini laser level videos and there’s a bunch of referral links for a bunch of decent homeowner quality levels. Have you tried a laser level from a big box store? Because it feels like the more rational conclusion would be that you don’t understand how to work it. I mean what are the chances that for different brands I’ll make the same broken feature

My biggest issue with every laser I tried is when they lock the pendulum, lts not pointing straight. Not allowed to the casing.

Weird UA-cam issue about this video. I've tried to save it to my "Watch Later" list four times--and it never shows up there. Not sure why, or if that's a concern to the video's host--but thought you should know. (Thanks for your video!)

Buy Chinese knockoff lasers, expect Chinese knockoff performance (Both from the product and the seller).

You should realise that lock mode is for transporting the device. When being used the gimbal lets the device settle on plumb and level. Not sure you should be reviewing tools that you don't know how to us. I would take down this video. It makes you look rather silly.

Cheap Amazon products produce cheap results.

If these had true reviews, they wouldn't show up on search results.
Besides, there is very little components in these things. They should not cost allot of money to begin with.

maybe just learn how these work before you write bad reviews about them…and then you leave this video up still? what’s wrong with you?
