    The birds are chirping, the saber is flying without telegraphing and the peaches are ripening on the tree. What a great video!

      Thank you my friend. I often worry about how loudly the birds are caught on the audio.

    My Russian sport sabre coach taught this cutting technique. Works very well with heavier sabres and rapiers too. When I started fencing in the SCA I did not understand just how hard a rapier can hit. I figured we were using fully historical techniques and proceeded to land a few cuts. My poor fencing partner, who had no padding, was covered in bruises afterwards. I apologized profusely and learned how to do SCA draw cuts instead. Currently, I do solo practice (Roworth) with a Black Fencer Synthetic Gymnasium Sabre (the original 930 gram one). It will probably hit like truck so I think I'll need to buy something lighter for sparring. 🚚⬇🚗

    Thanks for the advice. Not many people teach technique. I'm just starting to learn so this really helps. Cheers.

    Thanks for uploading the video and explaining the technique in great detail! The analogy with boxing makes perfect sense to me. I need to find a space to practice without scaring the living crap of my neighbors in California. Their psychic may not be entirely ready, hehe. Keep more videos coming!

      Glad you enjoyed! Hope it is nice in California for you, it was so hot here yesterday that my phone kept overheating while I was filming this.

    Telegraphing isn't bad at all, it's used for various fake attacks and tricking, it's legit...

    • @jiskodadski3208
      @jiskodadski3208  Рік тому +5

      What you are talking about is referred to as feints, telegraphing is completely different. Feints are false attacks or deceptive movements to misdirect and mislead the opponent away from your true intention in attack. Telegraphing refers to unnecessary movement, often a bad involuntary habit with one's technique, which proceeds the actual attack and tells the opponent exactly what your intention is.

      @@jiskodadski3208 Yes, of course, it was not written as hate, the technique on the video is correct and very nice, already used in the German fencing school of H.W. Kreussler and Iwanowski... but the difference is only for the one who performs the action, not for the one who receives the action, so when I telegraph I use it to deceive my opponent..many techniques start with telegraphing and end in a completely different direction, false prime or qarta, sturtzhau or "niżek"... that is, if I know about it... 🤭 It was just that telegraphing is not bad but it is legitimate and can be used... the video is good 👍

      @@lojsabamm7383 I wrote with no hate either my friend. I just wanted to clarify. The word "telegraph" as I am using it is more from boxing terminology. I wasn't sure if you were using it the same as me. A telegraph is considered a mistake because it is unintentional, for example if I slightly raise and tighten my shoulders before every punch as a bad technical habit, the opponent has advanced warning of my strike. I think it is just a misunderstanding in terminology so I was hoping to explain what I meant. Using feints and misdirection as you are talking about is indeed a higher level of strategy, however attacking swiftly without giving away your intention by telegraphing as little as possible is fundamental in weapons and empty hand.

      @@jiskodadski3208 Oh,ok,ok, so a little misunderstanding in terms🤣... I take telegraphing only as the beginning of the action, not as the whole action... yes, yes in combat sports it makes sense, there is no weapon that can be changed in motion...the telegraphing is wrong there, that's true...👍

    Good to see someone not saying only moulinets work. Also any stretches good for the elbow after practice?

    • @jiskodadski3208
      @jiskodadski3208  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! I must admit that I have never had any elbow problems so beyond basic circles (making a circle with the forearm while the elbow remains fixed) I don’t do any real maintenance exercises for that joint.
      I do hit the bags often and sometimes warm up with that skipping while thrusting the barbell exercise Fedor does, perhaps these activities are the reason that I never have troubles with my elbows....some of my fingers and toes have been dislocated whilst grappling, that is where I feel my aches.
