well done Sam, you've discovered the secret that isn't a secret and never was, not for thousands of years, that Indian philosophers call "i am responsible for my own reactions".
Ponder this! Who is the "you" that is going to gain mastery over this self. There is no self there is no you, I, or me! You cannot use part of the illusion to control another part.
Jordan is someone I have immense admiration for regardless of his proclivity towards "intentional" long windedness. hence I won't say he is awful as there is quite a lot one can learn from him , whether your kind of communicator or not. I think when it comes to understanding the jungian corpus of work, and i mean truly grasping it, he is one person to go to. only that you might have to find a way to track back to the main thread of every lecture every now and then as you will be relentless swayed with mythos, chaos and lobsters. lol
@@tarotpalm7088 How more active can one get in life than confronting the mystery of thought and it's undeniable connection to human suffering. I'd argue that taming one's mind is the greatest endeavor there is.
Sam's just incredible at explaining such complex concepts.
he definitely is. only he can break down life as he just did.
He's almost applied Lacan and Winnicott to look at this, but this was literally the best way to explain it
@@sharvaaniramkissoon1720 Never heard of those 2 but will check them out. Mind filling some gaps for me?
Read, "The Untethered Soul; The Journey Beyond Yourself" by Michael Singer. This is what Sam Harris is explaining.
Thanks. Will check it out.

😅Saw what you just did there.
It's weird that you think we want your perspective on this.
It’s weird you use “we”. Do you represent a group? Are you using the royal “we”?
Merry Christmas you!
@@Alan_Page I'm positive I represent more than enough people to constitute the use of the word. Glad I could clear that up for you, nutsack.
@@CarltonNjong Your shtick is boring. 😀
Sorry, I can't learn anything with Jordan Peterson there. I have to leave. I think he's so awful.

Mindfulness seems to lead to passivity rather than action. I'm not a fan.
