    Sir , why we find 180 degree at first position to be equally brightness ?

    • @RohitGuptaPhysics
      @RohitGuptaPhysics  Рік тому +4

      To get the maximum brightness in polarimeter device, angles or rotation is made after 180 following a particular rotation either it is clockwise or anticlockwise. Reading at or below 180 does not give clear observation of maximum or minimum brightness. So to get these rotation 180 degree is used.......Hope this will give you some clarification. To get more understanding read about transverse nature of light and how we can prove it based in analyser and polarizer, thereafter apply this in case of polarimeter.

    Sir this polarimeter is very useful as the scale and vernier is infront and much bigger for accurate view. But in our laboratory the polarimeter we use that have 2 lenses, one for the yellow light another for the scale which we have to look through lens and set the vernier which is very much painful for eyes😢😢😢.

    We got the specific rotation -ve. Is that value right for sugar solution with 50kg/m^3

    • @RohitGuptaPhysics

      Standard value is +66.5⁰ cm³/g-dm for cane sugar solution. It means that it is capable of rotating the plane polarized light in the clockwise direction. Commercially, dextrose is available and obtainable through the inversion of cane sugar.

    • @RohitGuptaPhysics
      @RohitGuptaPhysics  2 роки тому +6

      The first plate is known as the polarizer. The beam is then rotated as it passes through the sample. After passing through the sample, a second polarizer, known as the analyzer is rotated such that all the light can pass through then one can find the angle of rotation which is equal to the angle by which the analyser was rotated.
