    I have complete faith that the Bears will absolutely hire the wrong coach, whoever that may be. History bears this out (pun intended).

    @Faiz He is a known head coach, it does not move the needle for me, and I really really want to see a great young OC get the HC job. That said it will not matter until we know the staff and see how the team preforms..... Id view this as a solid hire, but no fireworks..... but again ONLY the record on the field moving forward will matter.

    This is the perfect opportunity of taking a great OC from the enemy in the division that knows how to face this division and a great mind to develop Caleb for a long time. It’s just too perfect to get Ben Johnson.

    • @kenyattaclay7666
      @kenyattaclay7666 18 годин тому +1

      No, this is the perfect opportunity to hire the RIGHT coach no matter who he is or what side of the ball they coach. The simple fact is when you get tunnel vision and only narrowly focus on one aspect of a coach then you are putting yourself behind the 8 ball.
      I was just looking at a video a couple weeks ago after Tomlin clinched another winning season & 0 losing seasons at how the Dolphins chose Camron over Tomlin because they thought he was to hip hop even though they thought he had the better interview.
      The Bears need to chose the best candidate, not the best candidate that’s an OC or not because you’re taking him away from a division rival, he needs to be the best candidate pure and simple.

      @@kenyattaclay7666fully agreed, we need the best candidate period, people need to stop looking at what background they came from, the truth is a good coach is a good coach no matter where he came from. Tomlin comes from a defensive background, has had no losing seasons and been coaching for 16 years now. Heck people forget that John Harbaugh, was a special teams coach, look how well Baltimore has done with him as the head coach, so the background means nothing, they need to find the coach who has the best plan

    Get an outsider who knows about organizational leadership and organizational change. Allow the OC and DC do their thing while the HC strengthens the culture and builds the team, focusing on Context, Composition, Competencies and Change Management. This is a team that operates through Reciprocal Interdependence. There is much that goes with this specific strategy of team building-beyond the scope of this thread-but I believe it is what the Chicago Bears need in order to be successful.

    The issue is that people need to look past whether the HC is from a defensive background or an offensive background, the only thing that matters is if they are a good coach and they can build a culture, if they can do that then they will win for us. The only argument for an Offensive minded head coach is because of Caleb, but we’ve seen those type of coaches come in and still fail and the team looked horrible on both sides of the ball. Lance Briggs said something the other day on the CHGO show, he said that one coach that people don’t pay attention to for a HC position is the special teams coaches, he mentioned how they work with both defensive and offensive players so they understand both sides, if there is any coach that could bring balance it’s them. The last coach that was hired as a head coach that came from special teams was John Harbaugh for the ravens, and look how well they’ve done over the years. Point being that the only focus should be on finding that coach will coach this team well as a whole and will establish the winning culture once again. If they do this, it’s going to be hard to go wrong

      Bears fans need to STOP with this Mike Johnson pipe dream HE is NOT leaving Detroit for this dumpster fire of an organization called the Chicago Bears why is that?
      First he is paid very well and has pretty much complete autonomy to run the offense.
      Second he probably gets a huge raise to stay with one of the most professional organizations in the NFL. Sheila Ford and Brad Holmes EVP and GM are Lamborghini s compared to McCasky and Poles/Warrens VW organization. All these guys do is micro manage EVERTHING you have to ask permission to take a piss at Halas Hall.

  • @Chitex03
    @Chitex03 18 годин тому +1

    I’m not sure why Vrabel is the #1 preferred HC besides the fact that he comes with head coaching experience.
    Just my opinion, but Vrabel’s resume and statistics are a bit inflated and also not particularly that great having coached in a rather weak AFC South Division. Who was the powerhouse in that division while he was coaching? The NFC North will be a different beast for the next 5 years and coaches like LaFluer, O’Connell and Campbell just happen to be in the top tier in the NFL. We’ll see what happens to the Lions if and when both the coordinators leave.
    Vrabel is definitely an alpha type “front of the room” type leader, but that doesn’t guarantee WINS and competing for SB’s in Caleb’s career.
    I’m afraid if the Bears don’t get this right for next year, we’ll lose both Caleb and Odunze to the better ran organizations once their rookie contracts are up. Then the Bears return back to square 1, just like that.

    The narrative that we “have to hire an offensive coach” is the dumbest narrative I’ve ever seen. You really don’t know if any current OC would translate into a HC. Vrabel gives you closure. He had the carpet pulled underneath him in Tennessee and it’s crazy how no one’s acknowledging that.

    • @ChadShadel
      @ChadShadel 14 годин тому

      Getting a generational QB and not supporting him with a genius offensive mind who will bring consistency to the offense is why this is the narrative. Ben Johnson is one of the best offensive minds in the game you go get him it's not a question. By going for a defensive coach you are setting up your young QB for a new OC every 1-3 years. That much complete change will severely handicap his growth we have seen it with Cutler and Fields.

    • @zackrodriguez2710
      @zackrodriguez2710 14 годин тому +1

      @ That is so void in logic 💀 you have no idea whether or not Ben Johnson can lead an entire roster WHILE being asked to be the play caller. He could be the next Kyle Shanahan or the next Marc Trestman, Norv Turner, Matt Nagy etc. it’s a complete Hail Mary whereas Vrabel gives you quality on the job experience and was successful in bringing in offensive geniuses like Matt LaFleur and Arthur Smith. The culture and the entire lockroom is much more dynamic than just the QB who I’m sure can continue to grow even with a defensive minded HC. (See McDermott-Allen, Belichick-Brady, Dungy-Manning, Ryans-Stroud, Tomlin-Roethlisberger, etc.)

WOW there is an improvement. As I said Johnson is not leaving Detroit to come to Chicago because he has complete control of that offensive game plan and is paid very well
