@@amyzappa1436 don’t think you do more dmg when they are under 50%. Yes, you do see people through walls when they are low and do more damage when they are hacked.
Everyone has bad games sometimes and having a 0 kill dps sucks but at least that one dps tried to switch up what/how they played when things weren't working instead of doing the same thing over and over again. Haven't watched the whole video yet so not sure how well it's gonna work but still I feel like that's better than doing the same thing a million times and expecting a different result.
I love emongg's vod reviews. Very good constructive criticism that will actually help someone to improve and not just roasting someone for their bad plays. Thanks for being the wholesome and welcoming OW2 content creator that the community needs!
@@Duane-p1d idk if we watched the same video but their dps seemed more helpful that the doom at times. I don’t play dps cuz it’s not my thing, but yeah u got me chief !
@@sakura9959Doom is a tank that typically requires external pressure from DPS first and foremost, used as a separation tool more than a Frontline. The real issue is that this guy was playing Doom into like 3 Doom counters.
@@SereneLeskovsky yeah I have to wonder, at what point do you swap? if Doom is dependant on his DPS and one of those DPS is slacking + you're playing into 3 of his counters, shouldn't the move be to swap Doom?
i love watching these videos so much, because you're not just sitting here roasting people nonstop because they're messing up in different places. I really love the fact that you're giving them constructive criticism & ways to improve their gameplay. I personally learn so much just from watching these & listening to how you're "coaching" others. keep up the amazing work, emongg !
the strengths of dive is that they can very easily move around the map and get around and behind the enemy to force them to turn around and use important buttons since *your* buttons are very low cooldown; thats all u need to work on to get great value with dive even if ur not great with mechanics
Also needs to learn the vertical slam. Sometimes when you can’t really escape but you just need to buy a few seconds of not getting targeted, you just jump straight up. Break enemy LOS, maybe catch some heals, maybe get your block and punch of cooldown as you hit for some overhealth.
it feels liek this tank wants to be playing a more traditional tank but also has really good doomfist mechanics ... if he can commit to one or the other i think hed be a lot better off. trying to frontline brawl with a doomfist is going to end in tragedy more often then not
Reminds me of a game I had on Doom. I went like 5-4 with my dps going 0-5 and 0-8. The one with 0-8 went "Tank???" while the other just admitted that they got diffed lmao
When you're the tank anytime you're doing nothing while the team's in the fight is felt hard. Face tanking as doom puts you in spawn. Pretty much you just need to figure out flank engagements and timing so you're not going to spawn often. If that means hide while you wait for a teammate or two to respawn or even realizing you have no value at the beginning of the fight aside from attracting bullets so you literally just be a distraction. Just always trying to bring a little value and while your team may not notice it, they'll reap the rewards if they're decent. You had one really good DPS to balance out the mediocre dps
I watched a ton of how-tos, learned doomtech, whatnot. I start in bronze. Now the pros tell me 1) get enemy team off highground. Check, nobody's ever there. 2) Bait out their cooldowns. Check, they use all their cooldowns on me, always. 3) make them get out of position. Check, they would follow me wherever I go. One thing they don't tell you is you also have to kill them, otherwise there is still a 50% chance you lose.
Don’t know how serious this comment is meant to be, but of course killing them (squishies specifically) should be your goal, but disrupting the enemy team is always the top priority as a dive character like Doomfist, D.va, Winston
@@Susshomaru I meant it. I'm not good enough to be doom. I'm hacked, naded, flashed, speared, slept, etc., and I find it hard to stay alive let alone kill anyone. I soak up all the health packs but then they are hacked too so gg. I got to gold, but don't ever hope for support to heal you, because - as they say - it's too hard.
Imo, Doom is a very difficult hero to play in lower ranks (people don't really know how to play with him, but they also know what's an easy-to-play counter - DVa has a similar experience with beam heroes but is more capable of peeling for her own team and isn't 100% reliant on diving in nonstop to get value). But yes it is better to prioritize living/escaping than to worry about getting kills yourself (mainly when the dps passive isn't applied). On any hero, but especially tank. It's important to be able to swap when you're countered too hard and your team is incapable (for whatever reason) of working with you. Like yeah learning to play against counters is valuable, but if you're being countered that hard without seeing any benefits to you or your team, and you care about winning, swapping helps. Also make sure you do a quick check on your teammates' positions before you engage, especially with your supports for LoS but also if you have any flankers who you can try to time engages with.
Tbh, I think OW is a strategy game first and foremost. Once on QP My team managed to win because 4 of the team mebers mantained everyone away from teh cart while I just literally sat on the cart and moved it foward. We didn't have more kills, but since the other team couldn't get close, we managed to win, To this day I still can't believe it happened.
My guess to why he's playing like this is cuz he's been told by all his teammates that the tanks just need to fight each other and duke it out while relying on his teammates to win their battles and he's just assumed that's the same for all tanks. I'd probably recommend him to watch other doomfist players that are at least masters or even just streamers in general cuz they'll help create the right path
2:20 this actually isn’t really true. When they’re grouped up like that you should be slamming in and punching out to gain shields and build ult for a proper engage. When you go for that engage punch in build empowered punch and slam out. When they’re super grouped empowered punch can deviate a team. The issue is they’re not slam cycling.
IMO the issues with Doom is a very simple one. The problem with this Doom player is that he was trying to play front line against a heavy counter Orisa. Doom team has to be able to survive without him for a moment as he dive in and out of the enemy back line. Not only this, Doom movements are not linear. He has to play angles, over walls or around corners. Movement is something that one has to learn to really be able to enjoy doom. Edit: Also F Bliz for allowing Orisa Jav to work against Doom Block!
I think the should look up more when they use slam tbh. When the don’t look up I feel like they don’t go far and it makes it easy for the enemy to shoot them. It also seems like they stressed out or smth whenever the got low and instead of safely retreating they ending up still dying. I’m not an expert or anything but I also feel like their positioning needs work from what I saw.
Blame like this is normal for tank players btw especially if ur a dive tank player…guy will go 1 20 n say its bc u were sitting on his lap, getting spanked, and kissing his neck
