Those are beautiful, my son is 19 and comet it's his favorite car. He has a 72 mercury comet 2 doors he drives it everyday to work. He is saving to get it paint and upholstered 😃 I never saw a 4 doors before. So excited to see when you are done fixing it 👍

Put some Marvel Mystery oil down the sparkplug holes in that black Comet and let it soak in for a few days and maybe it will help to loosen it up a bit. I am looking forward to the restoration of these Comets.
To get that black one on the trailer, I’d tie down the steering wheel so it’s straight and then take a chain and pully to pull that tow cable to the right to get it angled more center to the trailer. That’s what I’ve learned from my own experience of working with a towing and recovery guy and pulling some of my own vehicles out of some tight places.
The white one looks like a hotrod to me. The black one looks like a cruiser. I really like them both though. I wish I could run across a desk like that to give my son and I a project to do and him a car in 10 years haha

I bought a new 64 2 door hardtop when I was 18. Wish I had a new one right now. Traded for a new 68 Chevelle 2door hardtop and always regretted it. Loved that little Comet.
I agree with old plumber, hubcaps are 66 to 67. Have 5 of them that come with a 65 comet I bought 40 years they have been in the attic since. If you are interested in them let me know. Looking forward to see what you do with all 3 .

Build the black from the parts of both Comets.Even though it's a quad cab,put a floor shift in it.Hope to see several videos on the revival.What are you going to do with the black two door,any plans on it in the future?Glad to see a video from you,we need more!
Since the black one is a manual trans change it to a t5. I did my 63 fairlane it was easy to change over. Use the bell housing that came with the t5 and the over all length will be the same as the old bell and trans.So no drive shaft change necessary.
Need to add to my comment. The early small blocks had a 5 bolt bell housing but was changed to a 6 bolt design in 64 or 65. I used a 66/ 289 which has a 6 bolt bell bell housing. However I do reserve the right to be wrong on the 5 bolt to 6 bolt change.
You are in for challenges and to me, these two would be challenging. I know nothing about Comets and I don’t like the Patina look, but I would be interested in seeing what you can do with these. Good luck, Kent.

When you were trying to turn the engine over it looked like a snakeskin against the block. But it did move (the engine). Those other cars are good for parts, if not for your car but to sell on line. I had one of those floor mounted air conditioners in a 1964 Galaxie 500 and it would freeze you out. lol Good luck, great video (as usual).

I would get black patinà car running and driving. Clean up inside and out and sell it to have money to put engine and trans back in White car and keep or sell for some money?! I hope thé black car takes minimal parts To make it à drivable car. Your 64 2Dr looks very nice!
I grew up in that age in the early 60’s. I’m more a 50’s fan. I don’t like seeing these customized. I like the restored to original. No fancy dan wheels or anything. Make them look and run and sound like the day they came out of the factory.
