11:42, Another thing that separates the two is how cynical one is compared to the other. Both have their optimistic and pessimistic moments, and both come to a similar conclusion that it is far more difficult to be fully virtuous and honorable in the complex world we live in despite stories of heroes and villains tending to simplify matters, but The Boys generally has a far more pessimistic view of the world as shown through its story. This divide is best shown in how both works portray its various vigilantes (including ones without powers), super-beings and other super-abled/powered individuals, Invincible having many flawed characters while also making sure to note that even the most flawed among them can have virtues to them (as Nolan commits grievous atrocities, yet learns guilt, compassion and humility from experiences as a father and eventually seeks to right what wrongs he can despite knowing he may never be forgiven for what he has already done), while The Boys portrays regular people and supes alike as not only deeply flawed, but often being the villain in either others' stories or their own (chief among them being Butcher and his ever fluctuating, ever degrading sense of morality with his feelings of powerlessness and insecurity pushing him to embrace the most cynical , sociopathic parts of himself to cope). Both works also handle the theme of power and supremacy differently, Invincible tending to portray its various brands of supers at their worst as borderline incompetent and teetering on fully irresponsible, many of them caring more for personal glory than public service until they learn the weight of their responsibilities, while most supers are frauds and corporate products that are part of a species with a growing sub-culture of supremacists considering world domination to spite the humans that use them for entertainment and scientific experimentation. One is obviously problematic on its own (the Viltrumite species being the culmination of Invincible's various instances of supers being egotistical or dismissive of those weaker than them while considering their greedy conquests as acts of charity), but the other practically condemns being super as a source of great suffering not just for regular people, but for supers themselves who are isolated because of their paranormal conditions or experience disabilities because of their conditions. Either way, at their core, these works explore what it means to not just to be a hero, but a good person, and how that relates to having power, but as optimistic or pessimistic each work can be at times, each comes to the conclusion that power alone isn't wholly corruptive, but that it can instead reveal more about an individual to themselves and to others, for better or worse, and that what kind of person is wielding that power does matter.

I will not tolerate any DCAU slander it's the peak of the superhero genre it gave us peak storytelling. Paul Dini is the goat we don't talk about Bruce Timm. We praise Paul Dini but we don't mention Bruce Timm around these parts.
Yeah, it made sure each and every hero has to be secretly evil for at least the next decade, as if that wasn't already a played out trope in dc and marvel. Oh, and let's not forget that the family values are evil and fathers are bad for their sons, for some reason!
the last slop marvel movie (Deadpool and Wolverine) literally became the highest grossing R-Rated movie ever lol. Marvel really isn't going anywhere, and despite DC's live action failures they're still a gigantic brand. and yes DP and Wolverine is slop. The only difference is it has the funny red guy Ryan Reynolds in it
Honestly I think the main problem with Marvel tv stuff and even DC stuff is eventually you get so many characters (to maximize the IP coverage, of couse) its way harder to have a distinct gimmick(tm) for each of them, whether thats the genre or the tone or the individual power set. Ironically when you ARE successful at that, it makes the minor things that constantly keep repeatin cause they test well or w/e (overly quippy dialogue from non-quippy type characters, Big CG Third Act Fight, etc.) its more prominent than it'd usually be.
The thing is that super heroes were never supposed to be real, they were supposed to be like ideas, of courage and justice, strength and optimism, they were supposed to be larger than life symbols we could live up to be like, so trying to make them realistic and griddy kinda defeats the purpose of them, also assumeing that a realistic hero would be like Homelander or Nolan is also naive, people like superman and spiderman are raised to hold the morals they have, a superhero would be just as likely to be a dick as anyone else who gets a taste power
My biggest issue with the show is having Mothers Milk be called Mothers Milk but not having him be a Supe. I can’t believe we’re almost at the last season of the show and they’re just now teasing albeit messily that Marvin is “super” by showing him getting weaker and more frail. It’s gunna be so weird in the final season when they make it a reveal. Because we’ll be left wondering why he never drank the milk to fight soldier boy at Herogasm.
@ I know he lost weight, thank you captain obvious for stating something so incredibly difficult for me to figure out. I just thought there would be a reason, and the weight loss was a breadcrumb suggesting that reason would be touched upon in the show. But upon doing research it was just for the actors health. Again, my gripe still stands. Why call him Mothers Milk if you’re not making him a supe who gets his powers from drinking his mothers breast milk? They could have just let him be Marvin or MM
If only people understood how great BVS was. We should’ve gotten the real Justice league in 2017 and that movie would’ve saved the DCEU because the Synder Cut showed everybody Superman and Batman were growing into the heros we know them ass. The DCEU would’ve been fantastic if Zach completed his full vision but yall cried because Superman and Batman killed a few people
Kinda ashame the boys fell off after season one Would recommend big bungees vids on the show, i still enjoy the show but it highlights alotta the issues with it
It got OTT and the storyline got stupid, I just want them to hurry up and join both he showed together so I can say I made it to the end and be over with it I think the OG blonde lady kept the show grounded and the boss guy but victoria Newham has taken both those people out their spot and the show just doesn't have that realistic side to it anymore It's just how much gore, how much sex and how much shock factor can we give, kinda like how the Saw Franchise started amazing then just became ridiculous
@@princetriton1308 seems like a last of us part 2 situation, where a far more skilled writer left, and now a far less skilled co-writer, took over and is just flying solo, completely creatively unrestricted (for the worst) It very clear, the people who had a big hand in making season 1 so good, were not around for the rest of the show, like the quality drop is insane, of course it still has cool moments, but those are due to amazing actors like Jensen ackles, NOT good writing, even then you got the writers working to ruin it, making soldier boy a fraud, when the entire premise of his character is being what modern day heroes pretend to be, aswell a really good representation of discarded veterans who've fought in war, but NOPE just throw in a scene that says his whole story was bullshit, that effects literally nothing, only serving to make his character less interesting and more one note, doesn't even come up again or effect the story, Hughie just gets punched in the face for mentioning it and everyone moves on, like you might aswell actually have soldier boy be a fucking war hero ffs
@@fobo3361 I do agree the show is flawed, and maybe that season 1 is still the peak. Although I kinda feel season 3 is just as fun as Season 1. Btw the software I use is Movie Studio 15 (previously Sony Vegas) and I believe it’s available for free on Stream (at least that’s what a friend told me). I hope this helps you :)

This guy needs more visibility. Like and subscribe. Let's see what YOU do with power, golden boy.
Your channel should be more known!
seriously man continue making videos of this type you're good at it.
@@markussaula721 Thank you! I will try my best to make more regularly!
Young justice was amazing def reccomend it best DC
Such a good video 🤌
I will not tolerate any DCAU slander it's the peak of the superhero genre it gave us peak storytelling. Paul Dini is the goat we don't talk about Bruce Timm. We praise Paul Dini but we don't mention Bruce Timm around these parts.
We were headed there inevitably, the mcu started to be on their bs after endgame and thats where the superhero fatigue started
Correction soldier boy is the best character in the show and they should bring him back.
‘Seth the funny weed man’ lmao
0:09 jimmy Timmy power hour mentioned🙌🏽
that was a good video 🫵🏻💪🏼
My biggest issue with the show is having Mothers Milk be called Mothers Milk but not having him be a Supe. I can’t believe we’re almost at the last season of the show and they’re just now teasing albeit messily that Marvin is “super” by showing him getting weaker and more frail. It’s gunna be so weird in the final season when they make it a reveal. Because we’ll be left wondering why he never drank the milk to fight soldier boy at Herogasm.
He's "more frail" because the actor chose to lose weight, and was never implied to have powers.
They could have just let him be Marvin or MM
imagine enjoying the MCU and disliking the fan service in Endgame. I cant
If only people understood how great BVS was. We should’ve gotten the real Justice league in 2017 and that movie would’ve saved the DCEU because the Synder Cut showed everybody Superman and Batman were growing into the heros we know them ass. The DCEU would’ve been fantastic if Zach completed his full vision but yall cried because Superman and Batman killed a few people
Jimmy Timmy power hour ! that was lit
Kinda ashame the boys fell off after season one
Would recommend big bungees vids on the show, i still enjoy the show but it highlights alotta the issues with it
It got OTT and the storyline got stupid, I just want them to hurry up and join both he showed together so I can say I made it to the end and be over with it
I think the OG blonde lady kept the show grounded and the boss guy but victoria Newham has taken both those people out their spot and the show just doesn't have that realistic side to it anymore
It's just how much gore, how much sex and how much shock factor can we give, kinda like how the Saw Franchise started amazing then just became ridiculous
@@princetriton1308 seems like a last of us part 2 situation, where a far more skilled writer left, and now a far less skilled co-writer, took over and is just flying solo, completely creatively unrestricted (for the worst)
It very clear, the people who had a big hand in making season 1 so good, were not around for the rest of the show, like the quality drop is insane, of course it still has cool moments, but those are due to amazing actors like Jensen ackles, NOT good writing, even then you got the writers working to ruin it, making soldier boy a fraud, when the entire premise of his character is being what modern day heroes pretend to be, aswell a really good representation of discarded veterans who've fought in war, but NOPE just throw in a scene that says his whole story was bullshit, that effects literally nothing, only serving to make his character less interesting and more one note, doesn't even come up again or effect the story, Hughie just gets punched in the face for mentioning it and everyone moves on, like you might aswell actually have soldier boy be a fucking war hero ffs
@@fobo3361 I do agree the show is flawed, and maybe that season 1 is still the peak. Although I kinda feel season 3 is just as fun as Season 1. I’m just glad the showrunners are ending it with one more season rather than milking it for 7 more seasons. And season 4 did leave off on a cool cliffhanger.
YOOO LETS GOO
Kick-ass when
@@lppstudios3006 once I’ve read the comic, although I’d make a 10 hour video on the movie
@ swag I can’t wait cause Kick-Ass is underrated and Dave is such a interesting protagonist as a superhero he’s just simply the embodiment of heroism and not backing down 🗿🗣️🗿🗣️🔥🔥
I enjoyed the synopsis of your video very thoughtful well planned, but that Jonathan Major part is not gonna age well😬
That Major take was not necessary and some would say racist because you didn't include Downey Jr. Who actually went to jail for heroin use and being a thief on multiple occasions. But it's to be expected. Some will never learn until it's too late.
I wonder how long it will take to call this media the post super hero genre
big day for the most annoying person you know
For my biggest fan ❤️

Tbh I am pretty bored of these edgy ass gory af shows and comicbooks.

The Boys is so dependent on the “gore is so cool dude!” sensibilities of 15 year old boys that it’s unwatchable. And Invincible lost its soul for the same reason.
Cruelty and brutality are way too common in the real world; I’ll skip in my entertainment, thanks.
Season 2 of Invincible was a set up of many important plot points and characters.
The Boys and Invincible don’t sell kids toys
69th sub nice

Yes we love edgy bad boys. Moving on cuz it’s not the only types that existed. Yall would have loved spawn just saying and yeah yeah invisible beat him even tho it’s the writer that makes the rules not the logic.
I’m disliking the video if you make that diabolical joke ever again 😂❤
Breaking news. Gen-Z Normie likes goyslop
