    Tom had an addiction to pills from a past back injury which this song is also referencing. A lot of Blink fans tend to forget about it because it was at a time when, well, people didnt really talk about those subjects. Tom does talk about it, though, in the "start the machine" documentary on Angels and Airwaves. I'm also a survivor and going 4 years sober

    Favorite band for 24 years. This song hit hard and means so much to me. ❤ They're back to help me through my 30's just like they were there to help me through my teens and early 20's. I'm so happy 🙂

    Thanks for the back stories. I've known them since the 90s but more like a handful of songs and never followed them.

    Them reusing all the backgrounds from their older music videos and melodies from previous songs is such a great touch. Adam's Song is one of my favorites by them and this one kind of reminds me of it with its softer heavier feel.

    I Don’t listen too much 182 but after hearing this song on Spotify, I’ve now become addicted to listening to 182 on occasions. This song reminds me of my friend(no he’s not dead, but he did move to Alaska recently 😢), he was mostly a Green Day fan(last song I played for him was good riddance time of your life as a final farewell). After hearing this song, the memories of him and I were like flashing kind of like when your life flashes before your eyes kind of like that.
    Thank you for reacting to this Amanda, my thoughts are with you on your journies for mental health
    Edit: my best friend was like a brother because he was there for me when he could be y’all would’ve loved him

    This song absolutely sucker punched me in the gut. I can't hear this and NOT cry. These guys WERE my teenage and early 20's, it's so nostalgic to me, and to hear them be at the same point in their lives, singing about the things that are starting to matter to me more and more (saying goodbye to my friends, telling the people that I love that I do every chance I get because we aren't assured to have another day with them) is such a gut-wrenching feeling. Art really does have a power to concentrate and reflect what's inside, and this came along at such a profound moment for me.
    I will always love Blink-182 and appreciate what they've done for me.

    I think the beautiful/hopeful thing about this song is that, sadly, many times these kind of songs/videos are made after something tragic happens (Like One More Light from LP or So Far Away from Avenged), so I'm so happy that they got back, even if late, better late than never, and that this song is a celebration of their friendship and career but as a new start rather than a last goodbye

    Matt Skiba from alkaline trio took the place of Tom Delonge during Delonges absence from the band, It was only after Tom realizing that Travis was seriously injured in a plane crash and Mark having cancer that he realized he needed to be back with the both of them and that's what this song is about, Tom even said himself that he considered retiring from music before he found out Mark had cancer which made him realize he needs to be in belongs in blink-182

    To this day there is 2 Blink albums I’ve never heard. The 2 Matt took over for Tom. You are 1,000% correct that Blink is not Blink without Tom.

    Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio, Alkaline Trio is great in their own right. Matt gets dismissed so much for that Blink era it’s kinda shitty. It’s like Linkin Park now bringing a new singer in and everybody shitting on her. But so many fans saying Chester can’t be replaced, give her a chance. Matt didn’t get that grace, I love Blink and Alkaline. Blink fans need to look at Tom thanking Matt for his time there and keeping things going. Yeah it was different, but it wasn’t all bad either.

    I would like to share my story, in a short version My first son was born in April 2017 Eli Harry with a heart defect and we knew he would require surgery. This was done at 4 months old and was successful. At 6 months on the 23rd of October 2017, I woke to feed him at 3 am as he was tube fed next feed was at 7 he wasn't breathing he died in the hospital 3 days later on the 26th I was broken and am still shaky but most days have won until his anniversary. I would like to request a song one I found while in the hospital awaiting his surgery. It is Linkin Park- one more light. in his memory

      That sounds great and I am so happy for you and your journey is so exciting to me I love you and what you are doing here for all of us and I do care for you because if you’re light goes out then who will be there for us in our lives and in our hearts. So I don’t mean to sound rude or greedy for wanting you to be there for us all but I do appreciate and care for you and I know that you will always be able to understand what I am saying to you.

    you are deep emotional thinker (at least that is the impression I'm getting) I like that. however as far as special occasion never coming. I hate to focus on mundane when I don't see a clear path to go beyond it. Also even if I'm disappointed most of the time I like to imagine greater even if I know that I will probably never achieve it, and I would rather be that than someone without imagination. but you are right why wait for special occasion when you can do what you desire whenever you want the problem is you need to be able to find time and separate from mundane which is sometimes difficult to do if that is all you see. (at least for me)
    But good and insightful video

    • @MentalAmanda
      @MentalAmanda  Рік тому +1

      Adults are allowed to have fun and express themselves. And the type of ear gear a person decides to wear (so long as it isn't tasteless) does not detract from their message or experiences. Life doesn't have to be sterile and boring!
