Yeah. Definitely try it out. I learned this technique back in 2008 from a kid that I met when I was on a trip. He was playing Slipknot and nailing these pinches. He showed me that he uses his fingernail. I tried it out and it just clicked!
Why not just use your thumb like most people? I would think it’s easier I mean you’re getting sick harmonics so if it works for you cool just seems like added effort you don’t need to me
Using the thumb might work for most people. Using my finger nail works for me, and it isn't a noticeable added effort. It's different, but it works for me, and I figured I'd share it in case it works for other people. I'm here to encourage, inspire, and entertain! Thanks for watching!
This is bad practice, it can slow you down. It's better to learn doing them the correct way instead of developing muscle memory for this and wasting time
They've worked for me for over 20 years! Do what works for you. If my way doesn't work for you, that's totally fine. There is no wrong and right with art. Only guidelines! 🤘
@@mo-em1ke I just hit my ring finger nail and guitar pick against the string at the same time to get the harmonic. Check out the video for a demonstration.
@mo-em1ke Ohh gotcha! He probably does the traditional pinch where you'd pinch the string between your pick and your thumb. I find that way much harder. That's why it's important to just do what you're comfortable doing 👌
Very unique way of doing that 🤘
🤘
for being a small youtuber this is actually really good content
Thanks, man. I'm just starting out. 209 Subscribers, lol.
@@gemsfromjesse I hope you got far man good luck
@Big_thug122 Thanks man much appreciated
that is such a great way of explaining it!
Thanks! Are there any other techniques you'd like me to go over in a future video?
It is an unusual way of doing it I suppose, but whatever works right. I'm hit and miss when it comes to pinch harmonics so I'll give it a go.

Nice !
Try it on your bass! Lol
Your technic kind of resembles the one for classical guitar, although on classical you would use your index and ring finger and not a pick 😀
Interesting!
The way he said “sustain” made me uncomfortable
🤣
