@@icturner23Did you really think that I thought any different? Of course I know it's his persona, that's been his act forever. But because it's his persona I've not seen the real him and when he let's loose or break it.
I really liked the fact that after seeing the bit and finding it funny, Jack was ready to fully play the straight man, be dead pan, make no jokes. He really let Alex be the clown. Lovely bit of work! Can't wait to see him in action.
That's the format of an interview as well to be fair, I'm sure they all understood to a degree their role in this (it is always hard for comedians to resist jokes tho, so very much agreed that full props should go to Jack)
Yep, he ultimately refused to shut up and kept talking over both Alex and the machine. (If I had to undergo that, I'd just give one syllable-one word answers.) This is the first interview that I've enjoyed. When I first saw the series lineup I had a feeling that I might end up on Team Dee. I tend to root for the older contestants because I can relate.
Lol, the more I watch of these the funnier it gets honestly--love that Jack Dee just decided 'nah, I'm gonna finish my fucking answer before I hear another question' He was great at ignoring all the distracting loops, and then the thing breaking at the end, lol, poor Alex xD
Alex is actually pretty good at looking genuinely annoyed/perplexed by his own bullshit. Feel like Alex was mindful not to push Jack back over his line. Really looking forward to whatever task he was talking about.
if Alex Horne's appearance on Have I Got News For You a while back was any indication (where Jack Dee happened to be one of the panelists, which I can only assumed was filmed during or after this series), Jack is gonna be put through the fucking wringer on this one and I'm here for it lol
I'd have bet money Jack would be the one to freak out over this chaos, but shockingly, I think he did the best with coping. He just ignored the device! 🤣
Fun fact - Jack Dee has always been the person Alex always wanted on the show. If you watch some early interviews with Alex talking about taskmaster you’ll hear him say it.
Before I even started watching this, I'm guessing that Jack Dee will hate it. Edit after the interview; he was a lot more tolerant than I thought he would be.
Cant wait for the new series! Saw Emma Sidi be an improvisor for Kiell's Kool Story Bro show and she's hysterical. Also got a hug from both Kiell and Emma; they're both lovely

Oh my god. I'm so here for this interview. Longer than the one before again and Jack Dee is already nervously laughing from the first thing Alex says into his blinking box
Well, it'll probably start before she gets very far, but I can see her just plowing ahead with answers in her own time. Though she may have some choice words for Alex about it first. I expect it'll be fun either way.
@@MsClaudz he's adding to a loop with additional layers of recordings (when the mic is lit up red); it's basically ed sheeran's live act without all the grifting.

"Anthing you can do when you're fat is not a sport". As a fat swimmer, can I just show a bit of love for Alex not letting this go? I have loved Jack Dee's grumpy dude vibes since I was a teenager, and will continue to be a fan. But his lazy dig at fat people is cheap, and he's better than that. Taskmaster is about joy and is so inclusive in a very non-preachy way. It doesn't surprise me at all that Alex decided to pick at that particular thread. Looking forward to the series ❤
@@nengelen how? it adds the context that they are speaking directly from the position that JD blithely dismisses. JD is wrong anyway and it's a lazy argument often trotted out; many sports favour skills and/or strategy over athleticism or that having a non-typical athletic sporting body form isn't a barrier to some sports (such as swimming).
I guess Jack has never seen American Football, weight lifters, dancers.😂 People can be "overweight" and athletic. Weight doesn't necessarily restrict one's athleticism.😅
@@jrb5077 I think it’s pretty clear Andy zaltzman’s was first at least. The audio was messed up from the speaker and alex messed up the buttons on the mic a couple times.
