one of the most underrated 49er player.....he was great...when they double-covered Rice, JT tore them up....they had to double cover him too...49er offense was unstoppable.
Finally there's a John Taylor video! Taylor in my opinion was the best #2 wide receiver in NFL history. This guy in any other teams would had been a #1, also one of the best punt returnees of all time!
Ive thought thr same. Around that time and before it was thought if as risky and whimper if memory serves me. But I've Marvel's rewatching thesr how Steve was throwing often just barely behind his lineman. And lime you I think mean hed had a better ability to see feild better and release faster but he still coukd release quickly... Dang I miss that time period. Steve, many players, coaches, even anouncers sounded better. I think they know more now but doesnt come off quite as nice
I wonder where he at now he was so great Jerry Rice got all the credit.just like Pittsburgh Steelers Lynn Swann got all the credit John stallworth was a beast
Put Taylor on the Eagles he and Cunningham would have been downright scary.Taylor had more natural foot speed than Rice.He was a NJ high school sprint champion.
He ran a 4.67 40, but--if Deion can't catch you being that close--the 40 YD dash as instituted must be a sham for some players. WRs are not bent over. The NFL needs to make it position specific: a different setup for bent over players VS stand up players. Some players do both, so you might want to get them to do it both ways. Still, WRs are one of those positions that are NEVER bent over. As such, to get an accurate reading, you must stand them up and run that way...They also should start doing a 100 YD dash, which would better reflect run after catch speed...Some players might never do well in a speed competition(because you need to suit up some players), but I believe that a whole lot of the red flag times would be gone with making it more natural!
Great video
Taylor’s yardage after a catch was so impressive. And, he was a great punt returner too.
2 90+ yard catches in the same game! Taylor was unbelievable. One of my favorite players as a kid.
John Taylor needs to be in the Hall of fame he did alott for the team.
3:36 I remember Dat game a shootout vs Buffalo I thought it was SB preview

Another great choice. I'm a huge John Taylor fan. Definitely underrated in my opinion. Could of easily been a #1 WR on any other team in the league.
That bills/49ers game was so fun to watch. No punts and over 1K yards of offense.
Thats one of the few football games that ill watch over and over again
Hall of Fame material
John Taylor is so under rated it's sad
Yes he was he the only receiver that could beat deion Sanders
Congrats JT on your induction into the 49ers Hall of Fame! Truly one of the greatest to ever dawn the red n gold!!!

Yep my guy! Glad somebody is giving him his flowers. A beast!
The most underrated receiver EVER!!!!
If it weren’t for Jerry Rice, John Taylor would have been a decent #1 receiver in his own right!
How Steve Young Never Took A Snap Out Of Shotgun Is Crazy.
49ers didnt need it.....

Westcoast offense is not built like that.
@@tharrigville it’s old school West Coast offense. Today it’s shotgun now because defenses are much more faster and can get though faster than before.
Westcoast offense didn't have the shotgun snap, only 3,5 & 7 step drop backs
He waved by ta Deion
I think 4 a minute JT was Young go to guy
I wonder where he at now he was so great Jerry Rice got all the credit.just like Pittsburgh Steelers Lynn Swann got all the credit John stallworth was a beast
This is quite a specific topic lol
Taylor is a #1 on almost any other team. The guy was great but he played in the shadow of the greatest.

Taylor beat Prime n his prime a few times
The anti Alvin Harper
The Niners got away with more pick plays than the rest of the NFL put together.
HAHAHA, Not really sure if that's true, but its a funny observation
Taylor used ta serve Prime Time mo den Rice
Wasn't john taylor the third president of the lds church?
Do with Joe Montana.
Consistently hard to tackle.
