Such a shame what has happened to daytime and primetime dramas! As a child I never imagined that things would be like they've turned out. GL was 70 years old for goodness sake! Santa Barbara should have NEVER been canceled. It wasn't because of ratings either. It was because NBC felt entitled to a large portion of the massive $$$ that SB (and New World Television) was making in foreign markets (France, Russia, Italy, Germany) to name a few...Where SB was a force to be reckoned with. Similarly, Another Worlda got the axe because NBC wanted more control over the show, and p&g wouldn't give it. So, we got Sunset Beach and Passions (which NBC had much more control over.). NBC should at least have 2 soaps today. I'm still bitter over the Santa Barbara cancelation. I'll never forgive NBC for that one!
1000%!!!! Santa Barbara was a diamond in the rough! Such an innovative soap opera. And AW was so beautiful and full of tradition. Nothing you said was a lie!!!! They should've never been cancelled. I'm bitter too!
mntdewboy sooooo True! I even watched Santa Barbara in German too as California Clan. They still show the reruns on tv sometimes. I was heartbroken when the killed Joe( even the second joe was lovable!)
Senza Lane Davies, Santa Barbara, non valeva più un cent, il miglior attore, col miglior personaggio, cattivo quanto basta, senza essere troppo mieloso stile Cruz e Eden, che non mi piacevano x niente. E un mistero per me che Lane, stupendo, non abbia mai avuto un premio, ma il miglior premio è l' affetto dei fans, che mi pare che ha Lane non manchino. Un saluto, un po' in ritardo, dalla Sardegna, fans di S.B, ma soprattutto del meraviglioso Lane🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
