The Priii in this series are very competitive. Started from poll or #2 the last 2 races. The BRZ is also competitive. But the championship has still been dominated by the GT3 spec cars over the years.
I never had a PlayStation, but the Gran Turismo movie that came out this year sparked a new fascination of GT racing in me, despite never watching any other racing or even knowing anything about cars. It’s overwhelming but understanding cars and mods and how they work is a dream of mine.
This has been my favorite racing series for a very long time!!! They could make the GT300 series a bit more simple so that the fans can understand it and follow it better

I looked up: in 2019 the Toyota TS050 LMP1 did 1:25 in Fuji, the fastest LMP2 did 1:29, the SuperGT pole lap was 1:28. WOW I didn’t expect that! for reference, the 2008 F1 pole lap was a 1:18
GT300, rather than GT500, is the one that is a heavily tuned road car since most of them are using GT3 spec cars. GT500 is basically a prototype with a road car appearance. Their inline-4 engine is also used in Super Formula racing cars.

Yup, if u played gran Turismo. The supra, GTR and NSX has JGTC name. But it still called Super GT back then. maybe JGTC refered to japanese GT Car, while in europe it called GT1, or GT2
They do use the same Class 1 regulation like DTM (minus DRS), which is the reason why they're so similar. Sadly DTM is in a really bad shape compared to Super GT.
the gt500 and gt300 are actually named after the amount of power in kw that the cars produce with gt500 producing 650-670hp (about 500kw) and the least powerful gt 300 producing 400hp (300kw)
They were named based on the power in PS. Hence the 500ps (495bhp) and 300ps (295bhp) before the association adapt to the Class One regulations. These FIA GT3 cars were detuned to that power for example.
LP for ever they would win in a race but the gt500s have got a higher top speed it's the hybrid boost out of the corners in which allow the lmp1s to be quicker in terms of race pace as they can get to their top speed quicker.
I’m hoping they’ll add like a super gt version of a Kei car as a class or as a separate support series , gt200 or gt150? lol Would be awesome to see those little things with crazy aero and power racing each other.

Did you watched the video? GT300 have GT3 cars, cause it fit in specs... so, its inferior to GT500 GT500 pole laps are about 2~4sec behind LMP1 Theres no chance to a GT3 car
@@michaellafalce7350 The GT300 cars can keep up with WEC GTE a bit better because of the tire war. Regular GT3 cars are slower than GTE at most tracks. Fuji is also a very favorable track for GT3 vs. GTE, because GT3 cars do well in a straight line. GTE makes a lot of time over GT3 in the corners as they have much more downforce.
This is what it would look like if NASCAR embraces technological advancements and ditches the cookie cutter speedways. In case Super GT plans to do another event in the states, here's a list of good circuits. -Laguna Seca -Sebring -Road America -Indianapolis Motor Speedway (GP layout) -Daytona International Speedway (24hr Layout) -Charlotte Roval -Circuit of the Americas (F1) -Sonoma -Lime Rock -Watkins Glen

I wonder why the fuck worldwide motorsport authorities bother to impose all kind of stupid regulations for GT cars in order to make them slower than they should be, and less powerful than their street versions, in addition a lot of aero restrictions, being that as WORLDCLASS GT cars they should be the fastest out there, but they are not. Even in DTM they have something against fucking power, Japan clearly shows how you can give engineers freedom and still have awesome racing, learn from Japan. At the very end, the fastest cars out there are legally not world class, but only limited to one country, and being able to stomp on real worldclass racecars.
I also think that the DTM has to adjust their car specs to the Super GT. After all, they're the ones in trouble, with Mercedes quitting the series, and the uncertainty of how they should move on now. I consider it a great idea to sort of merge the technical regulations of both series. So Super GT cars could race in DTM, and vice versa. Win win. Would also make the DTM cars even faster and more spectacular in the process. ;)

It just means a class of racing where there are multiple tyre manufacturers competing, so they wind up creating incredible high-performing tyres specifically for the cars. Whereas if a class only has one tyre manufacturer, they generally play it safe because tyre failures look bad for the company (and hurt the racing quality).
I got into sports cars for the unique sound they each make, sad to find out they never keep the best sounding engines in races, such a disappointment jeez.
You know you can go watch the GT300 class if you want to hear that, right? You got your usual GT3 cars with engines like Porsche's F6, Lambo's V10, AMG's V8, and NSX & GTR's V6, alongside GTA-GT300 cars that uses engines like a Boxer 4, V8, & V8 Hybrid, and Mother Chassis cars with Nissan V8s. There are quite a lot of engine configuration to listen to.
According to my understanding from this video, GT500 is faster DTM both in corner and straight line. And GT300 = GT3 , except one can customise and build his own GT300 car but not GT3.
@Den Chan, I think that super GT and DTM are very similar, they raced this year at both a DTM and super GT track, and it was fairly competitive, with a DTM car winning at Hockenheim and a super GT car winning at Fuji
@@j2f141 Super GT cars had serious problems with tyre performance due to conditions in Hockenheim, this because their tyre suppliers design bespoke tyres to the circuits gt500 race in, in wet they're about 10 seconds slower but ended up being much slower.

Back when it was JGTC too. Since 2004 when Gran Turismo 4 was released and was the last year it was called JGTC and then a year later called Super GT.

Gran Turismo made me fall in love with this series.

LMP1 car is faster than GT500. But lets remember LMP1 are pototypes and GT500 are heavily tuned cars.GT500 cars are incredible fast.

A combination of DTM and GT Masters would be great but a lot of people would just hate on it.

Initially the gt500 and gt300 are based on their rough amount of horsepower. But now, it is only a title. Gt500 cars actually has 650hp 2liter i4.

Surely GT stands for Grand Turisimo (Grand touring) A high performance car with limited luggage space for high speed continental travel.

DTM cars aren´t really slower than GT500 cars, but they are restricted to a topspeed of about 250 km/h.
