I can drop some advice as I have done 2 years of Zoology The kitten is between 5-6 weeks as your mom stated since the ears and eyes are wide open and it's moving nice and quickly. It's normal for a kitten to bump into stuff since it's still learning to move about properly, still keep an eye out on that. He seems to be a tad bit stressed because of a sudden shift in the environment, but the cat going between your legs like that is a sign that it finds comfort there, so it already sees you as something it can be comfortable around. It eating solid food already is a good sign, although the cat could use a little more food since it's a wee bit skinny then I normally see. I do recommend getting the fleas checked as soon as possible since kittens having fleas can lead to long-term issues. For now, let the cat wander around the house and get used to the new space, it will wanna explore and look around so it can establish it as it's home. That's all the advice I can give for now Edit: 2 things I wanna point out, the kitten purring rather early is a really good sign too since it is a sign it's not stressed and is enjoying where he is. Also pay attention to the tail, it's standing up straight but the hair isn't all puffy, meaning it's happy for sure. Now for a name, I'll drop a few names i would chose •Emil •Leo •Eevee •Calt •Enzo •Mao •If you wanna have fun, call him Mew •Niko •For a more deep meaning name, Mikhail can also work since it translates to "gift from god" which works since the kitten being there alive and healthy is like a gift for you all That's all the names I can think of for now
