Prof Marsh, i am a brown belt in bjj not in Gracie jj, and i have NEVER been in a class that taught this. I have subscibed with a notification bell.
Awesome Roy. I remenbered Royce seminar when we trained the body Fold takedown , and he said that we had to control the fall of our uke ( just like you did ) because he wasnt take anybody to the Hospital, hahaha lol , and the place was packed with people. We trained that a lot, and it was really nice feel that type of control. Awesome video, as always .
Thank you so much, brother!
"If you have a little bit of trouble, you're a little bit weaker: this is something Erkan does..."
*Erkan dying inside*
Thanks sir
My gracie dojo (incl. in the Gracie University videos) teaches to do it from the person's side, but your argument is that it's not as strong or makes you off balance is that right? I take it this is one of those things where it's not THE way, but just A way to execute the technique? Or are you quite adamant your way is the proper way?
I have a hard time doing this against someone taller, do you have any tips for that?
It should work well against someone taller since I want to control their hips. But if there’s a large height disparity it can be tough since my head won’t be pushing their chest.
Two options. As you do it, walk backwards and pull their hips with you. This will increase the hip pull which can make up for lack of pushing force
2. Drop for the head bump double leg when this doesn’t work
@@GracieSchwarzwaldJiuJitsu Thank you very much for the tips! I've had a hard time bending the guy backwards previously, but I'll try out your suggestions on Monday :)
How good is this vs bigger guys
Its like a warm snuggle
