It's a shame they chose Intel for such a thin and light. Hopefully, they follow up with a Ryzen 7 skew for even longer endurance and potentially less fan noise.
Intel this generation isn’t as bad as before but yes still not good. AMD supply does not exist and they knew this and wanted to sell units. I wish AMD got their shit together cause I would also love one with a Ryzen chip
@@therealbilaal8758 Endurance on this device seems very good for an Intel laptop. However, current AMD processors provide more performance-per-watt, so there's no reason the same laptop couldn't last even longer while staying cooler.

Thanks for the review Matthew, but I would prefer fanless MacBook Air M2, even though I'm a 20 years Windows user. Fanless form factor is so vital for portable devices. Still there is no great, energy efficient and powerful CPU for portable devices in terms of x86 architecture. that's why Apple M silicone proccessor is doing an excellent job.
@@MatthewMoniz I don't prefer MacOS as I actually prefer to use Linux over either of the other two operating systems but I have to agree with the OP. Apple silicon is just so much better for thin and light laptops than anything Intel or AMD is offering that I have went Mac. My MBA M2 (and my MBA M1 before it) is totally silent, never gets even remotely warm to the touch, has a fantastic screen, super thin, great keyboard, and best touchpad I've ever used (standard Macbook haptic touchpad). Unless you need Windows or Linux (I can just remote into a remote server or use my desktop for any super heavy dev work), there isn't much of a reason not to go apple silicon right now.
I love seeing both Intel and AMD being pushed to deliver great Apple competitors. Most laptops that are priced around the Air and Pro deliver decent noise management and battery life.
I'm sorry but Ultra-compact laptops with Intel CPUs are just stupid due to thermal/power issues and poor battery life. Opting for a even ancient Ryzen 4000U processor is preferable to the 13th gen U cpu. The ideal choice would be a Ryzen 7840U processor as it provides SIGNIFICANTLY better GPU/CPU performance and at least 50% better battery life.10nm vs 4nm

Good io. Wish they kept the battery size and keyboard travel from last years model. Understandable why they switched to intel considering amd lack of chip availability. Lenovo thinkpad z13 and x1 nano could take some lessons from this.
this review feels a little shallow. while i was watching, i noticed that the power button was right next to the delete key and right above the backspace key. that is an absolutely abysmal placement for a power button. having used a lenovo thin and light with the same issue, i can speak from experience about how terrible of a placement it is. working on any document and accidentally pressing the power button putting your laptop to sleep is annoying at the best of times and downright irritating usually.
