Late summer of 87, and two 19 year old kids met and, before long, fell for each other. It was short but very sweet and, after an intense couple of months, they went their separate ways and lived their own lives. This song was a constant reminder of that glorious time. Fast forward 34 years later and, by pure coincidence, their paths crossed once more. The feelings were still there, stronger than before after so many years. This takes me back to my college days. I had their greatest hits album and would blast this during college and work. It's funny how fast time goes by. It feels just like yesterday. 😢

This album came out August 3rd, 1987. I was working as the food and beverage manager for a major hotel chain, 24 years old. Bought this on cassette 3 days after it came out (Def Leppard fan since On Through The Night). Got married less than 3 weeks later. Our wedding was at my in laws house 260 miles away. Night before me and my fiance left for the wedding trip in my 63 Ford Galaxy 500, I brought a 100 watt Sony amp with a 12 volt adapter out to my car and hooked it up to my 5 watt per channel cassette deck, then brought my huge Pioneer home speakers out and put them in the backseat. Drove all 260 miles to our wedding with this album just blasting. I'll always call Hysteria our wedding album.
Me and my buddy used to do that with his stereo in the car of his Dad's which wasn't working. We'd sit there for hours listening to different musics. But it was mostly Rock and Dirty Rap. We both loved Too Short. We were more like 6th graders though.

The generation that got to experience the 80' was the Best of the Best. Im Blessed to be alive and know how awesome the 80's were. After the 80's the music has slowly went into the sewer.
We never had Cell Phones...Thank God we had the Best face to face connections. Love was all around us. We had friends all around us, group meetings and parties and life was fun and we looked into each others eyes talked and laughed in person. We hugged we fought and most of all we loved each other.. No Cell Phones,No Guns,No internet !! We had the Best generation. I was Blessed to be there !!

I hear you but have you thoroughly checked out the 70`s music? Don`t get me wrong I love 80`s music and have attended many of the 80`s supergroup`s concerts but to me it`s like 70`s groups provided the inspirations for so much 80`s and 90`s music.
Millennial gen here and let me tell you how envy I am it was absolutely BEST OF THE BEST maybe in another life I'll get the chance to live it, i love all the songs cant tell which is my fav because ALL OF THEM ARE HITS!!!

I absolutely love the lead guitar tone in this but at 3:27, that’s what a crunch tone should sound like, just plain thick and juicy!

I'm like Tony, I'll be 68 in a few weeks with a stroke. Christ is my guide and my Lord. He keeps me going. This brings memories when I ran 10K's in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Texas. Before I go to sleep Memorizing Psalms 23 and 91 helps me go to sleep.

My brother just passed away in April at the age of 56 from a massive heart attack. He standing on the porch and just dropped dead. This was his favorite, def Leppard. I’m walking down memory lane right now. I miss him so much. These songs make me feel closer to him. He was going to see them on August 31st in Seattle, they were supposed to play several years ago in Seattle but the pandemic hit and it was canceled. several other hard rockers, motley crue , poison, Joan Jett and others. It was rescheduled for August 2022. Ya know, I think he will still attend, I think he will be all over that place with his favorite rockers. 🥲

This is one of the many love ballads of the 80's. 80's love ballads can't be replicated. I graduated high school 1984 and I still cry because time has passed us by. But these love ballads still remain the same. Nothing to bring back great memories like 80's rock n roll. I will always love the music from the 80's.

I was 16 (Edge of Seventeen?) when Def Leppard dropped this album. Power ballads. Big rocking numbers. "Hysteria" had it all...each song forever bound with memories of an incredible time. Maybe it's a silly thing to say, but I would remember the 80s very differently without "Hysteria". Thank you, Def Leppard!

Graduated high school in the summer of 1987. It was an amazing time. Fox body mustangs, Camaro Iroc, Trans am, Shelby Daytona Chargers, and my very own Conquest. What an awesome time to be a teenager. This country was as American as it had ever been and it was spectacular!
