Great video! One remark. Plugins (mic-pres) in the unison slot are always printed to the daw. The inserts can be monitored only, or printed to the daw.
I don’t use their amp sims but I do record my band with a pair of 8p’s and unison preamps (usually the API’s) and then I take it home to mix on a Apollo twin and 3 accelerators (which I got for free on various promotions). I’m definitely a fan.
Hello. Thank you for the video. But question : What's the reason to not print the guitar and bass ? is that to be able to make a re-amping after the recording session ? If yes, will you use the same rig by changing the routing ?
The ua stuff is great. I really enjoy their bass emulations but i haven't fallen in love with the guitar amps like i have with everything else Ua offers. For now ill keep using my eleven rack for guitars.
I have always wanted to record my music so I’m starting construction on my home studio and I just purchased an Apollo 16. I have never used one or recorded so my question is: Is there a good book or a good website that explains how to use / work the Apollo 16? Another question I have is: due to lack of $ I can’t afford a Mac Pro (rack version) so I am considering buying a Mini Mac. Would the Mini Mac work? I appreciate your help and expertise in this matter.
I love Universal Audio, watch every video you guys make; but I have to be honest i'm starting to feel like you are partners with UA. Could you clear this relationship for us ?
I've had this same problem with the Apollo 8p. I sent it to Universal audio, (at my expense), for a fix and it returned today in the same condition! I will call them tomorrow. The tech support has not been great. I agree, "better at marketing then quality control". Here is another link that shows the same problem. ua-cam.com/video/alwW-2p3-uA/v-deo.html
Just opened up my first Apollo interface - an x8 - this was a great video for me in showing so many of the choices ahead. Thanks!

Nice overview of a session: thanks. Sounds good.

I've done it in September and October of 2016. We daisy-chained 3 Apollos (Two Apollo 8P's and one Apollo 8). Great sound!
Love your goodness and information, BEST
Would love to hear a mixed version of this. Sounds awesome straight out...a good post mix would make it sound amazing!

Théodore Magdeleinat no doesn’t matter. Haha
Equipment sales people always use all sorts of mic's for drums !

everything sounds great, but I think the drummer needs a different snare drum it just didn't sound good in the mix
