The great GREG! I went (many many years ago) to Munchen-Kirksseon from Italy, only to see Sieges Even live! They were so amazed that they dedicated the night to me and our friends...Your father Greg came to us and gave us the poster of the band with the tour dates and the signs of the band members and THE PASS FOR THE ENTIRE TOUR (unfortunally we couldn't follow the band). I still keep a beautiful memory of your father and the entire band. Give him a greeting from me!

A sense of change and the art of navigating were the masterpieces for me, though I love pretty much everything they did. Even Life Cycle which is one of my favorite prog thrash albums.

Обалденнейший альбом! Sophisticfted как и Uneven- это одни из самых оригинальных творений в истории рока(металла), которые не могут ни устареть, ни быть повторены (по стилю). Динамично,живо, прогрессивно,мотивно и к тому же цепляет. Миллион раз переслушивал.

Wolfgang zenk and the Holzworth brothers make this album incredible. His band 7 for 4 is amazing. Especially the album contact.
This album is indeed a masterpiece on its own right. Having said that and fully acknowedging Wolfgang's work, I'm a simple man and prefer the down to earth style of Markus Steffen. But Steffen could never have written this album. Not in this life, nor in another one. This approach is so different, and what a great album this is!!! Wow.
Another great Sieges Even album. This one doesn't sound like the rest either. It's amazing to me how different each of their albums are and how much they evolve from year to year, reinventing themselves. I hear some Rush influence in their, and even a little funk that I didn't pick on any of their other albums I've heard. There's also some really great lead guitar on this one.
Wolfgang Zenk on guitar changed the whole band sound
It was stated somewhere that it was almost like a solo album by Zenk recorded and played by Sieges Even.
Meaning that he wrote all the songs. All the lyrics. Which was why the vocalist Kaiser left.

One of their least accessible and most progressive albums. Its alot to take in but once you get it this one is amazing.

Sieges Even' "Sopisticated" und das darauffolgende Album "Uneven" haben seinerzeit meine Wahrnehmung der Gitarrenmusik im Bereich des progressiven Rock's / Metal's komplett auf den Kopf gestellt und mich absolut fasziniert.
Derart astrein handgemachte Musik auf höchstem Niveau dargeboten zu bekommen, völlig unterbewertet zu sein und abgestempelt zu werden als Musik für Musiker, ist und bleibt für mich ein Rätsel.
Band's wie Dream Theater, Symphony X, DGM, Shadow Gallery, Spiral Architekt, Rush, Saga, Triumph,etc...
sind in ihrer Machart unerreicht, aber Sieges Even sind in der Wolfgang Zenk Ära ein Unikat sondergleichen.
Bis anu dazumal nie gehörter German Prog vom Feinsten, in einzigartiger Darbietung und Finesse.
Meinerseits muß einfach mal gesagt, bzw. geschrieben werden, daß für mich persönlich diese zwei Alben eine immense Berechtigung im prog. Kosmos haben und im gleichen Atemzug mit den ganz Großen ihres Fach's in Erwägung gezogen werden können und müssen. Ganz großes Kino!!!

Wow, what an amazing album...I love their first two albums, didn't care for "A sense of change" so I just wrote off this one without even listening. What a mistake!
i feel like for some reason people disregard their next album, "uneven", even though they have a very similar sound.
i mean like the full album stream of uneven has way less views and comments.
I can only comment for myself here, but as much as I like Uneven, it felt a notch less interesting overall than Sophisticated to me. I agree the musicianship is still stellar of course!

@@Aldi60810 That's probably the case, since this album and Angra's Holy Land were recorded in the same studio. Luis Mariutti, former Angra bass player, said once that Sascha Paeth and Charlie Bauerfeind used to show them some demos they recorded with Helloween, Sieges Even and other bands.

Daniel Gildenlow was definitely influenced by Sieges and their Ultra Sophisticated albums...Goddang this is masterful from start to finish!÷!
