Unitree Robotics, the Chinese company behind these humanoid robots, revealed that the robots used in the performance are part of their "Fuxi" series. According to the company, these robots are equipped with 360-degree of panoramic depth perception technology, which allows them to navigate their surroundings with precision. It allows them to perform complex movements like the waist-twisting and leg-kicking steps typical of the Yangko dance.
This technology, combined with high-precision 3D laser SLAM positioning, enables the robots to perform on complex stages like the one at the Spring Festival Gala without missing a beat.

Not ahead...in many areas they are behind. Engines, computer chips and machinery to produce them. In airplanes they have to catch up. Space rockets, Crypo they were leading till Xi killed it and handed it over to US. BUT China is developing fast, the west is in some areas even regressing.
As often you chest-thumpers are forgetting where they got the technology from at first. Highspeed trains ? Technology transfer from Germany. Highspeed railway slab track ? Yup, Germany. The grinding machine for the slab track ? You guessed it, technology transfer from Germany. High pressure concrete pumps ? It's getting boring - they bought the German company that makes them. Rail fastening system ? They bought the German company that makes them. The geniality of the Chinese is the scale at which they applied the technology.

The current Boston Dynamic robots are much better than these, and can stand themselves up if pushed flat. These Chinese robots can’t, as we saw when one glitched and collapsed while being filmed walking backstage.

A lot of delusional Chinese people like you say it's the end of Boston Dynamics or China has surpassed the US in robotics. The fact is, Atlas robot by Boston Dynamics from 5 years ago could do backflips, balance after being pushed, stand up after being toppled, pick up stuff, run and even parkour with very smooth movements. These robots are just extending their arms and lifting their legs alternatively. They can't even jump. Even the robots at car assembly lines are more impressive.

This is a cute show, but an old concept done many times before, and certainly not cutting-edge.
REAL cutting edge robots now can jump to different height platforms, do back flips and stand up off the floor by themselves.
In this performance they filmed one of the robots walking down the hall backstage when it glitched and collapsed flat, and its handlers had to drag it upright.

Their Chinese space station looks super futuristic. They also developed the first perfectly walking humanoid robot. Check out the footage. They've also developed the coolest most flexible robots on wheels that can do all kinds of acrobatics. Their version of chatgpt, Deepseek is far more intelligent and can do stuff that chatgpt cannot and at a far cheaper price. Their metro stations and infrastructure are at another level.Well done China!

Not sure why people compare these robots with Optimus - they're obviously designed for different purposes. A closer comparison might be to Boston Dynamics Atlas/Spot dancing performances.
Optimus is built to work on an assembly line, compare Optimus's hands to these robots' "grasping tools" and you see where the effort of development went to for Optimus.
Also Optimus is being prepared to be fully autonomous, not pre-programmed as these obviously are due to their synchronised movements.
