The pipe is cast aluminum. They weld in those Welsh plugs. It's common for them to rot out. People use jb weld as a temporary fix all the time. I'm impressed you were able to mig weld aluminum. The majority of the metal part on a pwc are either aluminum or stainless steel. If you heat up that copper ring gasket on the stove till it's red hot it aneals it and makes it soft. Nice trick with the channel locks on the pump.
Thank you for the explanation, and I was surprised too that I was able to mug weld it. And thank you for the trick on the copper ring gasket! And you’re welcome on the trick for the pump!
Love the ski content. I rebuild them myself. Please wear safety glasses with the wire wheel lol. Best engine guy in town is blind in one eye from that
RIP WEAR RING LOL
Frfr, it was toasted
The compression tester is shit i tried it on mine does not work. harbor freight tools suck
Harbor freight compression tester does suck I can confirm!
@@justinstraub698 Good luck my friend 🙂
I recently saw a video by Jet Ski Jim where he recommended getting a Schrader valve from a tool truck like Snap-on for a compression tester and swap it in the cheap tester. The cheap gauges just use regular tire shrader valves so they aren't accurate.
