To discharge properly, set your meter to DV volts. A your leads on each terminal, sit back and watch it discharge. if you have a cheap meter, do like I said. Once your done switch to the OHM setting and watch it charge back up. Numbers should go up fast, however, that depends on the battery in the meter, if it's newer or not.
