It’s been years since I’ve read or written anything that isn’t for school. I’m a junior in college and I want to rediscover my love for both of them. Loved this video
Can relate! Took a 4 month break from my novel last year. Took another 3 months break and planning to start revisions tomorrow. Perfect time for this video!
Not the strongest of writers, but glad I started well. I re-read the first completed book and went in to the writing of the second. I have a third written down but listening to this, makes me review the skeleton and realize I failed to make the continuation and connection to the first. I think I'm going to complete the skeleton the start tweaking before I write more. Thank you for the video! What happens if your story has a gap of 4+ years ahead? Are we to create filler chapters to bridge the continuation of one book to another? Or can abruptly starting in the new work out?
Ive been working on a sci fi/fantasy novel for about two years and a year into working on it I showed it to a handful of people to get some feedback. My proofreaders have had a copy of it for months now and the only person I’ve heard back from is my best friend. I understand people are busy but it’s been so long that I have been embarrassed about it thinking that people don’t think it’s any good. Im thinking about scrapping it and moving on to another project but I honestly don’t want to give up on this story. What do writers normally do when they can’t seem to get any feedback?
Got this project I'm struggling with and don't know where it's going and where I need to go; so I've decided to give it a break and concentrate onto another idea. Just fear of not being able to get back to it when time comes but I really want to finish it.
If you’re struggling and can’t find a way to break through in the other project, a bit of space from it could be just the thing you need! You can still exercise your writing muscles with the new idea so it won’t be quite as difficult when you go back to it 😁
@@AndreaHecklerWriter Thank you for the advice. I must admit I see things more clearly with the new idea than with the previous one since it's something I had written as a kid and just want to revise it and give it a new life. Even when it's hard, never give up. And I guess I should stop doubting about my own capacities, that's an issue I've had with myself too often.
This is a great video that should be more widely known
Thank you for this video, you've inspired me to continue with my project. Really, thank you!
