- Hi everyone! The French press brewing method is super versatile and is a great way to get started making coffee at home. Hope this was helpful and make sure you stick around to watch the milk foaming part!

Thank you for all your recent support, I can’t believe we’re at 80K already!! Can’t wait to see y’all again next Friday! 💕
9 minutes of actual information. Three different types of coffee. Well-edited. Clear. Concise. Pleasing music at the perfect volume. No wasting time. Clearly narrated with no pretense. Thank you. So refreshing to watch a well-made clip, as opposed to a 15 minute video with 48 seconds of actual information. Bravo.

Jose i snort instant coffee
Save them for body and hand scrubs or fertilizer shots in plants. We only use 5% of the nutrition in a cup of coffee. The rest is incredible valuable.
I just fill a syringe with it and pump it directly into my veins.
I just a full-body shiver of disgust 😂
I like to snort the whole beans. It can be problematic but it's the best
time stamps! (totally for a friend.. me)

I love how she says there's no right way to do it you do you. Everyone out here on UA-cam weighing shit into their $1k grinder saying there's no other way to make coffee. Refreshing
yes, tbh, cold brew means slow extracting... you can make your own by experimenting.
@@rehannoor4961 u can make cold brew withought a french press all u need is a jar its actually really easy
@@bruhbruh8429 i know
@@rehannoor4961 We know*
Yeah, I dislike that elitism. But when it comes to espresso in particular, a very high quality grinder is critical. Doesn't have to cost $1k, but it's going to be up there.
my life changed when i learned i could use my french press to froth my milk. my coffees have never been the same.
great vid, really well done c:
My life changed when I saw this technique

SAME HOLY SHIT i'm so happy
I want barista someday
i swear i looked at my french press differently now
I got a french press in high school that came with a mini looking French press to froth milk
I always like how you say to drink your coffee how you like it. I’m new to coffee and don’t like overly bitter things, so I add cream and usually caramel flavoring and it’s encouraging to see someone not be like “if you don’t enjoy it black you’re drinking coffee wrong”
Typically the people who say "If you don't enjoy it black, your drinking it wrong" know nothing about coffee, lol.
Then you're drinking cream and caramel. Not the coffee.
@@Sammysapphira lmao that's like saying "oh you add seasonings to your meat? then you're eating the seasonings and not the meat."
I don't like bitter coffee either, I use a French Press and after my water boils I let it sit for 30 to 60 seconds so it's not boiling hot, the hotter the water the more bitter the coffee. I also only steep my coffee for 3.5 minutes. It's trial and error figure out how much coffee to use and which temperature water works best for you and how long to steep but once you figure it out you're golden. I like to add milk and caramel and sometimes cinnamon, almond extract, chocolate, nutmeg, anise whatever I'm in the mood for.
If you dislike bitterness, I would recommend changing the roast from dark or medium dark to medium roast. Still bitter, then change the size of coffee grounds to more coarse or brew it in such a way that underextracts the coffee (use filter paper method or if using a method which leaves the coffee in water, decrease the time coffee sits in the water). Lastly, drink it at warm temperature and not hot. Also give it a chance to develope it's taste, like don't gulp the coffee, take small sips and drink it slowly.
I started using my french press to froth milk and it's literally the best thing and more recently I got into drinking matcha but have no electric/bamboo whisk so I thought back to this video and decided to try use the french press. It worked really well and just wanted to leave this here in case it would help anyone else :)
Thanks for the idea!
Thank You! my arms thank you too.
Using it for matcha is genius, thank you!
I love how casual and open the coffee community you're building is! You're bringing so much new people into the coffee world!
I really like how happy and positive you are, that's something I need in my life. If you ever wanted to inspire someone, you've done it.
Thanks a lot.
in france, we call this device "an italian press"
I love the sticky note on the fridge that just says "NO"

“Morgan drinks coffee” biggest understatement of the year. 😂
Next to Morgan spills milk
morgan devours coffee
Morgan annihilates coffee
The hair cut!! 🔥🔥
It makes her look like Audrey from the TV series "Scream."
Here is a fun thing that happened to me yesterday : I made a cold brew in a French press. It was so delicious that I drank it all within 3 hours. I ended up in the ER for breathing problems, they thought I had Covid but no it was an overdose of caffeine 😂 The lockdown apparently pulled my caffeine sensibility wayyy up! Anyway, thanks for your video 😘
i was not expecting this omg
It's also bec cold brew has way more caffeine than your regular hot coffee
Oh my!! Glad you're ok.
Caffeine is dangerous !
Oh geez! 😳 🤭 Duly noted!
I don't even drink coffee, but I take great joy in seeing people do stuff they love. This is great.
I watched this video 2 years ago and just found out that she/they made it to the final round of world championship! She/they are such a gem!!
When I do the last method, I make the french press coffee more concentrated (like an espresso shot) by doing a smaller amount of water to coffee. You get a bit of crema and super concentrated “shot” haha. The end result is close to a latte for sure
I would say yes but espresso coffee is different from regular coffee. It is more roasted
You don't get crema with any French press method ideally you want to remove that foam. The only way you get crema is with espresso.
That "crema" is not really crema nor should you drink it. It needs to be scooped off as it's very bitter
@@vivienmartin225 Yes, there's a distinction of course.
i’ve been doing that for agess
That milk frothing tip is INSANE I’m so excited to learn about this!
I'm a coffee lover who just got an espresso maker and put my French Press away but now I have more uses for it, thank you, I learned a few things and you are a great teacher.
I started drinking black coffee because I wanted to stay awake, and I didn't like it.
But now I love it.

Excellent video. Thank you. Two years ago I bought an Espro French Press and never looked back. I found your method to be perfect. Thank you for the new ideas. 🙂
i just impulse bought a french press yesterday, this video was perfect timing! thank you!!
I'm going camping next week, first solo camping trip and other people usually just make some instant coffee and we just call it a day. I'm going to do it in complete style for the first time! Thanks Morgan!
Way to go! The Aeropress is another French press-style brewer that’s all plastic so it’s great for camping.
Love the little heart you made when you poured the steamed milk in the mug.
Honestly I love your videos because you know what you’re talking about but aren’t elitist
My dad taught me how to use one of these and it's my favourite way to make coffee at home
i make iced coffee cubes for my cold brew. just put some cooled coffee in some ice trays, and throw them in the freezer. when used, they wont water down your coffee when they melt..... works great
French press is my favorite method of making coffee! I love the process and the coffee is sooo good!!! ❤️
That milk foaming a hack is brilliant.
why hasn’t anyone ever told me you could “steam” milk like this?? thank you 😭😭😭
Thank you for this video! I just got a french press for Christmas and haven't used it cuz I was afraid of "doing something wrong" so this video really helped!
Hey, I also got mine for Christmas ... and ever since finding James Hoffman's method (ultimate!) here on UA-cam I even enjoy it, much more than pour over!
Oh God! I didn't know that I could make cold brew with a French press! I'm eternally grateful to you! 😭💕💕
NaughtyBoy by far the easiest and most effective method.
Leslie Dugger IKR! I’m trying it out asap! 😋💕
I'm super tired and my uncaffeinated brain forgot how to french press. This is like the 5th video I clicked on after searching "french press how to" and in the time it took you to explain how to use a french press, the other 4 videos hadn't even given me any relevant information.
Thank you for being succinct, informative and not using loud, abrasive guitar loops in your video.
You saved my day! My coffee pot stop working after 5 years D: I always had a press but never used it, and now this coffee tastes better than anything the coffee maker made! I’ve been missing out! Thank you ✨💕
THE FOAMING OF THE MILK TRICK IS PURE GENIUS OMG
THANK YOU
I first started doing cold brew in my Ikea french press (hey, it was cheap, it works, and the plunger comes apart for easy cleaning). Until my wife discovered that she also likes cold brew and the french press wouldn't make enough for the two of us. So, I ended up getting one of those 1 gallon cold brew kits (glass bottle with a spout at the bottom and a perforated metal insert that hangs into the water from the top) from Amazon. Works really well and it is our summer brew. The gallon usually lasts the two of us 4-5 days.
One thing that I've discovered, which might be an interesting topic to unpack for a future video, is some coffees really don't work well as cold brew. I get some really nice, nuanced beans as a monthly delivery from a local roaster. The beans are usually closer to a medium roast, and have really complex flavors when brewed through my regular drip coffee maker. But, the few times I've tried making cold brew with them, the flavor profile turns super floral. Kinda feels like grazing at the local florists... Not really my cup of coffee... So the video idea might be on how hot brew tastes differently from cold brew with the same beans.
I love your voice over explaining what you're doing on the video 😍. It's the perfect mixture of precise information + humor + easy to follow. Again, loved it! ❤
I got a French press for my bday gift and I’m excited to do this!

French Press milk foaming. Life changing.
I feel like James Hoffman and I are the weirdos that never plunges the french press, pouring first and leaving it up all the way through. You seem so comfortable on screen that maybe you want to look into the world of competition coffee.
no yeah his method is definitely the best way to do a french press
She does competitions
I just got a french press from a thrift store and had no clue how to use it. You were the only person I wanted to show me how to use it!
I constantly use my French press for cold brew and I forget you can make hot coffee in it sometimes
Taylan Cantrell what ratios do you use?
@@brianakeen I have a 1000 ML French press with marks at every 200 ml. I usually fill with my grounds to somewhere between 100-200ML mark depending on the blend and how strong I want my cold brew to be and just leave in on the counter for 12-24 hours

Great job Morgan. I'm a 70 year old African American woman. I just learned something from you. Thank you!
Distilled water has problems with extraction due to lack of ions, soft water should be used, James Hoffman has a great video about that (he talks about it in filter jugs comparison)
Distilled water lacks everything, not only ions. I wouldn’t wanna drink that under any circumstances.
@@MrChitakifsy not in large quantities, wouldn't brewing coffee with it add enough solible material for it to be more or less fine to drink?
PszemonZmęczony well i guess everything it can extract from the coffee but still lots of minerals will be missing and that might do harm because distilled water washes them out of the body if ingested. Better stick with plain filtered water, i wouldn’t take any chances.
@@MrChitakifsy distilled water is not.meant for drinking, we use it in machines like vaporizers, autoclaves
Deb InPEI that’s the point, no one should drink that but the gal in the vid says that this is an option for some weird reason.
I don't know how I am now watching and learning all about coffee for days now but I am here for it.

I know, love the hair! Very cute.
i want to say your definitely doing what most are scared of is using there phone. this a great quality video with very equipment.
and it helped me with what i was trying to learn, great job...
Tiny detail, you can heat the glass of the press up by swirling some hot water around the glass BEFORE you add the grounds.
Also what is the ratio of grounds to water for cold brew?
i know literally nothing about coffee but your videos are so relaxing! the vibes are immaculate maam
Just ordered the mountain mug. It’s so pretty! Now I need to buy a French press 😂
I LOVE the Star Wars tourist posters on the wall
Seriously been trying to make latte art and have a French press. It’s definitely like you said a hit or miss because I can’t get rid of the bubbles! Don’t know wha him doing wrong but thank you for the video!
Sam Cardenas I think if you tap the container (not glass) on the counter like she did, it helps settle it, and let’s out the bubbles. But I’m not sure. Good luck. To me when it comes to my coffee it’s all about the taste and smell. Mmmm
I can live in a world of just making coffe, jazz and chill..
I was distracted by the shelving filled with snacks in the background. Anyone else?

hi 💕 if u are seeing this I just want to let you know you are beautiful even if you don’t realize it
I’m a beginner at coffee stuff and when my mom is coming over this weekend I’m gonna try making French press cold brew coffee with some cocoa powder and cinnamon mixed in, and then a cold milk foam made also in the press with some cinnamon sprinkled on top, I hope it goes well
I really like these voice over videos. Sort of James Hoffman meets Binging with Babish vibes.
Just bought a french press without knowing how to use it. This is very helpful thanks!
To say it with the words of Russ Hanneman: "This guy ...."
Coffee cubes are a staple for me since all I drink is iced coffee, in the years i’ve been drinking coffee never bought a french press. I have small mason jars for mixing my syrup and milk. I want a french press now, for cold brew I just put coffee and water in a pitcher, and put it in the fridge. Then I use my coffee maker to strain it, the french press makes it look so much easier.
Idk about coffee man, but you're just so gorgeous it's breathtaking 🔥
u just rocked my world i had no idea u could make steamed milk in a french press
Never thought of foaming milk like this! James Hoffman also has a good (a bit more involved) technique for a French Press, have a look.
Can I just say that I think you're a coffee crazed, chilled out, beautfiul person? Your videos are very enjoyable :)
I would love to know where you obrained that French Press with the nifty little scoop!
it's an OXO french press. You can find it on their website (oxo.com)
Your voice is beautiful so happy when you post. You make me feel like coffee after a long day of class lol cozy
Everytime i make the "latte" or cafe au lait. I never end up getting to create the latte art I desire. even though I follow all the steps morgan mentioned. is it possible to overstretch the milk?
I just tried the trick for the milk and WOW, I'm loving it!!
Before plunging, scoop off the top layer of scum. It makes everything else easier and keeps plunger from getting clogged.. From Hoffman the youtube coffee guru. Check him out
That was so awesome. I just bought my first coffee press from Starbucks and I'm so going to make some milk foam. Also I've never had a coffee press so when I bought the beans and had Starbucks grind them I asked for really fine thinking that's what I need for a late but it actually turned out perfect
Their was no fine grounds in my coffee. I pushed down the press ever so slowly and it was perfecto. Thank you so so much‼🕊☕
Any thoughts on how to ensure you do not “overfoam” your milk (get too much air into it, making it difficult to pour latte art because even the liquid base is too foamy)? Is there a best amount of air? Should you be looking to double the original volume of milk?
Glad to see another barista who doesn’t drink it black lol. Sometimes I do depending on the coffee, but I like those fancy creamers too!
Can the “Milk” part be Almond Milk too?
i think so
The additives in the package make it considerably thicker than home made.
I just got a french press and this was a perfect explanation
Im sorry, im just really distracted by how mesmerising you look.
