    Like how the van is setup. Organized. Between the van, shelving, tools, parts you stock, you must have 200k in cost. Not cheap to run your own business. But, you have the freedom to work when you want. Love the channel.

      I am sure he has some freedom to work when he wants but I would guess being in HVAC like many of the trades, you have to make hay when the sun is shining so the highest call rates and busiest times are likely going to be April thru August when everyone else is staying inside to get out of the heat so holidays and weekends are probably pretty busy. Many contractors will extend the work out by scheduling preventative maintenance throughout the spring and fall months and those that are doing heating as well will have plenty of calls as the heating season gets underway just like they do when the cooling season gets under way.

      @@kuhrd No doubt. He seems to work at least one weekend day. I don't think he's the cheapest HVAC guy around either. I don't know if you caught his video on marking up the inventory he carries.

      I think his last video or two back he had to run to the supply house for a cap and saw a product he didn't need for a nice hunk of change, and he said something like "yes I got one". I laughed because he sounded like someone getting an extra pastry at the bakery because they couldn't resist. So it's no wonder that truck is well stocked.

    Suggest stretching the wires out and taking a wiretie and tape it to the end of the wires so you can manage fishing the wires through the holes the flexibility of the wiretie alowes it to curve and go through all holes and you only have to feed one thing through and you can grab it from the other side and pull it through then remove the tape and you still have a good wiretie for other use , less headache.

    Yes of all the HVAC channels I have seen, Curtis has lots of the cool tools and gadgets to help get the job done vs compromise like a farmer would with bailing wire.
    New fan motor, new capacitor gets it fixed once again. Back to the supply house for more stock in the van.

    I’ve always loved watching your videos, especially when I was a newer tech.
    You and a few friends had inspired me to start making videos and publishing them onto here but I am barely getting views.
    Is it because I’ve only been doing this for a few months and I’m being impatient? Or because I cuss a little in my content lol idk what I’m doing wrong.
    Thanks for posting keep it up sir!

  • @chuckq54
    @chuckq54 2 місяці тому +1

    I think I would have placed a washer or two under that screw that sits directly over the motor wiring to prevent any issues later 🤷‍♂️
    If you have any scrap wood laying around from projects around your new home, I’d make a wood box to sit the motor on vs that cardboard scrap that’s moving all over

    When you get a "double-hole" like that, would having a 6"-8" piece of PEX in your bag for threading the wires save you from having to take the lid off?

  • @wmcomprev
    @wmcomprev 2 місяці тому +1

    Would it be easier to tape the wires together to pull them through?

    • @uzlonewolf
      @uzlonewolf 2 місяці тому

      Not really. They usually go through pretty easy once the spade terminal is cut off. For a short run like this the tape actually makes the bundle larger and harder to push through.

  • @jeffreywhitlatch1409
    @jeffreywhitlatch1409 2 місяці тому +2

    Stagger cut and blue wire nut direction wires and they'll fit in the conduit.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 2 місяці тому +1

      you can usually just fold one back and use a piece of tape to hold it behind the other. it's still fiddly and sometimes too tight on some conduit/tubes.
      alternate ways. 1. heat-gun heat and expand/egg-shaping/bell the end of tubing to fit better, assuming it's typical pvc conduit and you have time/tools there anyway.
      2. cut lengthwise down the middle a few inches on both edges and let it expand a bit at that end(assuming sawzall is already out), put it on concrete or whatever, step on it and cut. or put sawzall flat on ground and feed the tube into the blade (don't want to cut towards yourself or try holding both at once)

    • @uzlonewolf
      @uzlonewolf 2 місяці тому +1

      @@throttlebottle5906 No one has time for that, just snip the end and re-crimp a new terminal when done.
