  • "Graham was traveling in China alone with a mission to scout and open new BASE-jumping exit points. Graham's friends reported him missing on Wednesday after he had not returned from the jump and local Search and Rescue -unit found his body, close to Tianmen Cave, Thursday morning." - WWL
    Graham has changed the way not only BASE jumpers but also the general public views Wingsuit BASE jumping. Since his Brevent video with Dario went viral last year he has been consistently putting out amazing videos showing unique lines and daring flights in new landscapes. He will be missed by the entire community and remembered by many more.

      i did jump from the plane but i did wake&bake in case its my last day, the only adrenaline was last 5mins in that rusty tiny plane, the expectation of unknown, the rest was fun since death rate is like 1:80000 lol. needless to say i rather stay high than chase that adrenaline high, its safer and it lasts longer haha

      Graham Cox
      A harsh indictment son. He hurt no one other that the emotions of his family. In that respect, he deserves no more criticism than any other person in history who pushed the boundaries of what we considered, at the time, safe.
      Look at the Wright brothers, or Chuck Yeager. We take supersonic flight for granted now as we jet across the world, yet we would never have achieved that without some maverick behaviour.
      No, let him rest in peace and let those that loved him cherish his memory. Every person deserves that.

    I feel like this... at least the man died doing what he loved and embraced. What a way to go out, doing what you love. My mom worked a job close to 40 years, taking orders, catching buses in the cold, being told when to take a vacation. And in the end, that dead end job killed her. I know he died with a smile on his face, if my mom was alive she would say in his honor, what you loved gave you life, so why not let it be what takes you.

    Watch his videos and you will see the beauty and grace of his sport. But you will also see the sort of risk-taking that relies on luck. And luck always runs out.A small atmospheric disturbance, a moment of distraction, a miscalculation and you're instantly dead. If he didn't understand this, he was a fool. If he did, then he either believed in providence or he had a death wish; probably a touch of both.
    This is not to judge him. Not at all. But let's not call it a 'tragedy'. It was the likely outcome of his choices, perhaps even their inevitable outcome. Because there is no providence, only luck, and his simply ran-out.

    I can understand the thrill of jumping off a high mountain in a wingsuit and soaring free above a beautiful river valley below.
    What I DON'T understand is the need to see how close you can get to various hard rocky surfaces without getting killed.
    It just looks like jock one-upmanship and a need to prove how brave you are.
    Pilots who fly various aircraft mostly manage to find a way to push boundaries and do stunts without seeing how close they can get to the ground or some mountainside.
    Why not just enjoy the thrill of wingsuiting high in the open air without feeling the need to prove something by constantly risking your life? I mean, what IS the point???

    • @Play-joe
      @Play-joe 7 років тому +1

      Graham Cox yes and no.. people usually just drive to get from point A to point B but with every sport there is different ways to do it. with cars you got drifting, drag and regular racing however you dont get into skydiving to get from point a to point b like the usual individual driving a car you get into it for the rush. not everyone can skydive like they can drive

    • @Play-joe
      @Play-joe 7 років тому +2

      but driving and wingsuiting are two completely different things really. but people drive next to concrete walls driving down highways, you dont call them crazy. hell the autobaun is the perfect example the road is designed for cars to go fast. wingsuits are designed for people to go fast

    Graham Dickinson with Dario Zanon and a good many more wingsuit pilots at that time were probably the best hardcore proximity wingsuiters ever. Seen quite a few videos of other jumpers on the Rockstar Line, but none of the others I watched on youtube were as good as the Dickinson/Dario jump. The naysayers say - but they died within two years! Well, that is true, but consider this - they both lived longer lives than Jimi hendrix, and also the great Ayrton Senna was only a year older than Dario Zanon when he died in a race. I'd absolutely love to wingsuit, but I know it will kill me.

    For those who condemn those who fly based on a fear. A fear of dying a fear of getting hurt any fear is a learned feeling. We are not born with fear we learn fear. Its why so many little boys and girls break their arms jumping off 6 foot tall trees at 4 years old. They are not scared they have not learned to be scared. THis fear is what is used to keep all of us quiet. From doing things we want to do but are afraid to do out of fear of one kind or another. This man overcame the greatest fear we all learn to not fear eventually... death. WHen a person is on their deathbed most are no longer afraid of dying because it is at hand. Living in fear of something that is inevitable is a waste of the time we have while not dead aka alive. Doing what you want to do wether it be running a mile down the road or jumping off a cliff there is a possibility death may come of that action. Why run the mile but not jump off the cliff if the result may be the same? Here is a great story.. I had a friend who was my best friend and he went to Peru to learn firewalking from those who teach it. But they don't teach firewalking they teach how to overcome fear and to look inside ourselves for the power that we all have and to use that power to overcome fear and control the outcome of all events we undertake of our own free will. He came back from Peru and started gathering groups to learn and overcome fear and also walk on fire and do a few things seemingly impossible prior to his workshop. Like bending a 1 inch rebar between two people by holding it at our chins. I did it it was not magic it was real very real. I walked on fire I did amazing things as did everyone who went to the workshops. My friend was murdered in his bedroom for no apparent reason shot in the head killed while home alone doing most likely reading or something peaceful. I am sure he was not scared when it happened I will never know but the point is he lived his life not in fear and died unaware it was coming so he lived every moment like it may be his last and those who do the same I commend you and those who condemn them I pity you because you will die like everyone else and you wil never feel what it is like to not know fear.

    Wingsuit videos have been getting a lot tamer lately because the guys who did the craziest stunts are all dead now. "Best of Wingsuit Proximity Flying 2013" is absolutely amazing, until the end where it lists 25 wingsuiters killed that year, including five in one week, and you realize the horrific cost of making these videos.

    Do what you have to do to free yourself in this life, free will is what you have at any given moment, as long as you do it without making another suffer, I co sign your decision. if any has love for you, they will respect your decision. You can't say what this man did was wrong, if it freed his soul then he was satisfied by doing it. Who am I or anyone else to put restrictions on what he loved to do? Control freaks always have a say and bring morality into the issue, but if you are not his mother who could say the most, then save that bullshit

      It is actually wasn’t be easy as u said. After greeting death it will not just stopped there. Doing something silly/ dangerous which lead to death surely be the same as unthankful to god for all the health, comfort, life, etc which is provided to him. So he wasted it by showing he don’t care. That is not a good way to his place in afterlife.

    When we love others around us we have a responsibility towards them. I am sorry for the people who loved him, including all his family, this man loved no one but himself. His mind was not exactly normal and clear as to what is the meaning of real life. Really, life has no meaning and no purpose, in that we come in it due to circumstances beyond our control. We have to learn to fit in society which is not so easy. But we are free not to chose to do so of course, but it is not so simple, It looks as if he wanted to say something but did not have the vocabulary to do it and so he took a camera with him to be able to show others his calibre all in silence. So it is not a case of doing what he liked, doing what he did to show others what he did. Many people take risks and do not take cameras with them and what they do is for them only. This was not the case and he risked too much to prove himself, and hurt others who loved him. He had no right to kill himself. No one has that right.

    What an idiotic way to waste your life. For a few minutes of adrenaline rush he threw it all away. Darwinism took care of him, I guess...
