Girl you make it look so easy. I’m going to attempt to trim my girls nails tonight. I get so shaky cause I’m scare I’m going to hurt them. But we have been making a lot of progress with bonding so hopefully it won’t be to bad.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. Never in a million years did I think I’d be able to trim my gliders’ nails. I gave it a go tonight using this method and got all their nails done with only a few slight hiccups (chomps). Their nails have been a constant source of anxiety and knowing that I can now do them myself is such a relief ❤
Wow your boy did a amazing job. This is the most frightening thing I find with with my sugars. So scared I'll cut them and hurt them. Not confident at all
Your boys did so good recording the nail trimming! I'm genuinely so impressed! You should let em know how much getting to see this up close has helped people !!
I've had my babies for 8 days now, just clipped their nails for the first time and this video was SUUUPER helpful, it was horrible but I'm glad they're safer now ❤️❤️
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My biggest fear was “too much” or “not enough.” Finally seeing a close up of someone else doing it answered that. My daughter (15yr) was beginning to convince me I wasn’t cutting enough off.
Oh my goodness. The amount of joy this video brought me this morning... 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Thank you for all the tips!! I have a couple of feisty ones, and I'm feeling a lot more confident about being able to handle this now. Thank you!!
Thank you so so much. i have a new baby glider and he isn't bonded yet. I felt so bad that he kept getting stuck on things but I couldn't get him to let me trim his nails. I was finally able to trim them. Only got bit a couple times lol.
Im so glad you posted this! I got a suggie a few days ago and this morning i woke up to him having his back toe stuck! I cried and paniced. Now i have to conquer trimming his nails. I can do all other pets nails and my ferrets are hard but this is going to be tricky
Your boys are so well behaved.. and such great little videographers! I use the pouch/burrito technique too for nail trims. Well, I call it the burrito technique lol wrap em up! But at first I was just like “ oh I’ll just have the vet do it each time!” Yeah, that wasn’t going to work. They need a nail trim once a week and there’s no way I’m going to the vet every week 🥴 So I learned to do it myself and it’s easy once you get the hang of it. I rather trim glider nails than my dogs nails 😂 now that’s a challenge! Trimming a 100lb shepherds nails, who hates having her nails cut. lol
I'm so glad I found this cuz I need to do my girls nails and we are not that bonded yet. So I'm gonna think she's gonna crab at me the whole time lol but thank u so much for this video I'm a first time glider owner 🥰
Thank you so much for all your videos! We just added a new sugar baby to the colony and your bathtub video was a life saver! The girls are now all snuggled in the same sleeping pouch! Also can you please fo another nail trimming video with maybe suggestions on tools/ bags to use for it? I have a hard time getting mine to sit still even with treats to get it done.
Well that's a familiar sound. I bet she doesn't bite real hard lol. I was hoping you'd be trimming alone. That's my problem , no one wants to help me and it's so stressful it undermines all my bonding attempts. You did trim alone and didn't lose a drop of blood. Awesome. Thanks for sharing and she is gorgeous.
Hello, yes it is a lot of unnecessary stress on you and your pet . I've had my glider now for 9 years and never cut her toes ever. I use a fine #2 sand paper on her wheel and her play branch and she's fine . Yes her claws are still a little sharp but I'll take it to relive the stress of cutting. To each your own.
So I got my Suggies about 3 weeks ago.. and have yet to trim their nails.. the people I got them from said that they never trim their nails.. so now I’m about to tackle the task.. and have no clue where to start.. luckily they don’t crab at me and they very willingly come to the cage door for treats.. thank you for the inspiration.. wish I knew someone close by that could help me for at least the first go around
I just trimmed my two’s nails and I don’t think it went horrible. The girl (went first) was really not having it but with patience we got them trimmed. The boy was very calmer about it and only gave me trouble on the last foot we did (front foot). I let them crawl on me and it felt so nice not getting scratched up like a toy.
I have never cut my girls nails . I put safe sand paper in her wheel and on her shelf or branch . I have never had a problem thank god . Its too much stress on her to cut them as well as myself. Knowledge is always king thk you.
Thank you for this video - I want to cry (and sometimes do) every time I try to trim my glider's nails. I feel so defeated when watching other videos because they make it look so easy and the gliders are already bonded. She bites me enough to make me bleed every time, so I will try this pouch method. I normally put her in a fuzzy sock, but she'll bite through it. Holding the head seems like it should work though. Thank you so much!
That was great! My girl luna is pretty good with nail trims sometimes I don't even have to put her in a bag! But my boy oh gosh he just moves so much and is so sneaky I he always gets his head out of where I'm holding it!! But practice makes perfect i need to get my boys names done asap they are getting bad.. and they definitely won't take treats when it's trimming time. They just know these things 🤣
Love your vids. Thanks for sharing. So funny when she jumped on you. I had similar thing when i had babies on bonding pouch on me while cleaning the cage then suddenly 1 hopped from pouch to my shoulder. Scared the crap outta me cause I didn't even feel him moving in the pouch before hand lol.
Wow you are lucky! That is a pretty tame glider if you ask me lol One of my girls would be out of that bag so dang fast you would only see a blur HAHA The only way I can trim her nails is to wrap her up in a burrito blanket and hold her head CONSTANTLY so she doesn't bite me (and then she tries to bite me through the blanket anyway, little stinker) and snick away. Usually I have to release her and re-catch her at least 3-4 times during the process because she's wiggling the entire time trying to get away from me
Ouh yes! Not just that. When they climbed or gripped on your skin, a tiny scratch will make you itch like as if you got a mosquito bite😅 I always trim my gliders' nails whenever I see it get sharper with that curled claw.
I have a girl with really over grown nails and no matter how hard I try I can't clip them, she absolutely freaks out and I don't want to hold her because she flails so much that I feel like she will hurt herself. I've literally been trying almost every day for months and I can't get them. I'm starting to feel bad because I can tell they bother her when she tries to climb..
Quick question I posted on the sugar glider guardians page, my glider bit me (more like went into my skin for a full course meal) 😂 and I would really appreciate your opinion and any advise
Mine are Tasmanian devils. This would never work. How did you get her out of the cage without her biting and flying out? I have to wear thick leather gloves and then she still wiggles and writhes like she is possessed. I would love to be able to handle my girls this well . They were rescued and kept in a dark basement with no human interaction for years! They are very healthy but extremely fearful
My tamed, at least mostly bonded glider won’t stay still even with his favorite treats in the pouch, I gave up after one paw trimmed. What do I do? His claws keep getting stuck on things even though they’re fleece, they really need to be trimmed 😔😭
I got my gliders today and there previous owners never cut there nails and the keep getting caught on there poach but I’m scared to trim them since they are brand new
i don't need to trim my babies nails they do it themselves in thier wheel with the insert for trimming thier nails, in have to take the sandpaper out because my babies run on them wheel all night long and yes the vet said they were perfectly manicured
My girls (rats) scream bloody murder using every nail trimming technique in the book. I spent countless $$ on manual and battery driven trimmers. MY solution that actually works: I bought a lot of lava stone ledges which are not cheap BTW. I removed all ladders from their Double Critter Nation. The lava ledges serve as steps everywhere and perches for feeding from their elevated food bowls... and even perches for water consumption. Problem solved. This probably would not work with gliders. IDK. A stone inside the bonding pouch, maybe?? The stones last forever. Just remove and scrub them when they get foul.
The glider that I am trimming in this video is not bonded or used to being handled. Follow the instructions exactly and force yourself to do it every week. You and the glider will get more comfortable with time.
I think you should not trim them at all. Humans just do it because they don´t like the feeling when they walk on their arms and hands. That is the main reason why everyone is doing it, i never got any problems with their natural nails. unnecessary stress for the animals because humans.
Girl you make it look so easy. I’m going to attempt to trim my girls nails tonight. I get so shaky cause I’m scare I’m going to hurt them. But we have been making a lot of progress with bonding so hopefully it won’t be to bad.

I feel you
Didn't they do great! So proud!

I absolutely will! Thank you!

Glad I could help!
Well at least you know she's capable of gliding! That little jump was adorable xD
Mikayla’s Rambling it was super cute.
Oh my goodness.

Oh yay!!! If you are consistent they get used to it much faster! Peka is sooooooo much better than in this video now!
Im so glad you posted this! I got a suggie a few days ago and this morning i woke up to him having his back toe stuck! I cried and paniced. Now i have to conquer trimming his nails. I can do all other pets nails and my ferrets are hard but this is going to be tricky
Yes. It takes practice but it is so important! Congratulations on your new little one!!
I got a new glider the same day you posted the vid of you getting her and she is already eating/taking food out of my hand! I am so happy 😊
That is awesome!
Your boys are so well behaved.. and such great little videographers!

Thank you for making this video because I think I will get a sugar glider when I older or when I live alone
Great job showing how to cut the nails! You got really up close which is really helpful!
Thank you ☺️

yes that sounds like my Stellaluna... she is my most bonded but the WORST with nail trims

Lol yes they are fast little buggers.
Great video. Loved your boys. Lol. I am so glad I saw it
Believe it or not this video is absolutely wonderful and has given me the courage to try and do trimming!! Love the boys!! Hilarious
Thank you for the encouragement
I love your videos and how you do it. Please don't get tired of making em. More power!
Thanks for the idea...

Wow sounds challenging for sure!
I have wooden climbing ramps that i glue medium sand paper to, SIMPLE EY 😊
Glue is not recommended in glider cages. You could zip tie it. Just be careful the pads of their feet don’t get soar
Great idea ! will do.@@sugargliderdiaries
He really did a good filming job
This is such a great nail trimming video. Thank you.
Your very welcome
Ouh yes! Not just that. When they climbed or gripped on your skin, a tiny scratch will make you itch like as if you got a mosquito bite😅 I always trim my gliders' nails whenever I see it get sharper with that curled claw.
yes :)
Super excited to see how this goes!
Hope you like it!
Where can I get a pouch like that? Would make things so much easier.
This video was a life saver for me & my new suggies! Thank you ❤️
Your videographer did a great job🥰
Yes I only work with the best 😊
I have a girl with really over grown nails and no matter how hard I try I can't clip them, she absolutely freaks out and I don't want to hold her because she flails so much that I feel like she will hurt herself. I've literally been trying almost every day for months and I can't get them. I'm starting to feel bad because I can tell they bother her when she tries to climb..
Maybe see if there is someone in your area that has gliders that can trim them for you? You could ask in some of the Facebook sugar glider groups.
Quick question I posted on the sugar glider guardians page, my glider bit me (more like went into my skin for a full course meal) 😂 and I would really appreciate your opinion and any advise
Sure thing! Have you watched my biting video? Also feel free to send me a DM in Instagram
The kids make the video 10 times better 🤣
I just got 4, one boy and three girls! This will be my first time trying! Wish me luck
Good luck. ☺️. Remember practice makes perfect 👍🏻
Love this video!

Poor babies. My more recent video about handling sugar gliders might be helpful.
Your glider starts cursing at 8:35!!! Lol 😂
I need help
I was cutting my suger glaider nails but one hand started bleeding what should i do? 😭
My tamed, at least mostly bonded glider won’t stay still even with his favorite treats in the pouch, I gave up after one paw trimmed. What do I do? His claws keep getting stuck on things even though they’re fleece, they really need to be trimmed 😔😭
I got my gliders today and there previous owners never cut there nails and the keep getting caught on there poach but I’m scared to trim them since they are brand new
Thank you so much for making this, i know it will help me a lot.😄
Thanks for making this video. Love your videos...you are so real!
I'm so glad!
this consider tame. my sg can fight back and get out from the pouch.
What about nail trim wheels
Excellent video and very entertaining 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it
i don't need to trim my babies nails they do it themselves in thier wheel with the insert for trimming thier nails, in have to take the sandpaper out because my babies run on them wheel all night long and yes the vet said they were perfectly manicured
Great. I think this is not very common but that is great 😊
Lmbo...great video...real.. lov it
why not just put sandpaper on the outside of the wheel?
Will you be doing another live anytime soon?
Yes I am doing on this Friday and I think I will do one on Tuesday and Friday next week too
In 9 days I just think I’m going to get a sugar glider
Yay can’t wait fo this video!!!
hope it helped
Micro mans commentary was great 😂
Looking for a pair of white suggie babies. Lmk if you know of any legit breeders please
Nice video! Where did you get that pouch?
I’m sorry but I don’t remember
I watch your video and my 2 babies did great
what to do when i accidentally cut it short and start bleeding? should i let it be?
I talk about that in this video and have a link to the product you can use to stop it.
I need this.
Hope it helped
My little guys nails grow so fast it’s irritating
yes I have to trim every 10 days
My girls (rats) scream bloody murder using every nail trimming technique in the book. I spent countless $$ on manual and battery driven trimmers.

Ow can I do that when she is not bonded??
How*
The glider that I am trimming in this video is not bonded or used to being handled. Follow the instructions exactly and force yourself to do it every week. You and the glider will get more comfortable with time.
I love what you tried to do but there is no focus with this video I have to watch a different video for a step by step
Did any of your sugar gliders fart when you had them when they weren’t tame?
Yes it is called skunking I believe
LOL, your kids 😂😂
Not liking this video for the content. Liking it for the comments your sons make 😂❤️ (Kidding)
Haha they are great entertainment ♥️
Almost as similar as trimming our cats' claws...
Anyone else eating while watching this? no one? guess its just me
haha!
i have a young female who is exactly like her! so hard with her for sure lol
I think you should not trim them at all. Humans just do it because they don´t like the feeling when they walk on their arms and hands. That is the main reason why everyone is doing it, i never got any problems with their natural nails. unnecessary stress for the animals because humans.
They can also get stuck on their pouches and that can be very dangerous.
2 I’m here
your awesome
