Whenever you have free time Wah, can you do a bio life video on yourself? I've always wondered about your background, as to being born and practically raised in Venezuela? Also about your father? How your mother came over here to the states. Her struggles, would love to know more of YOU (:

"I won't always have the luxury of tasting her cooking" really hit me hard. My mom passed away five days after my 14 birthday in 1989 (she was 44 years old). Not only do I miss her cooking; I miss her smile, her laugh, and her kind heart. Unfortunately, I was too young to be interested in cooking back then, so her recipes are not something that I can replicate today. Selfishly, I also wished she was alive to help me grieve when our only child (Jacob was 2 years old) passed away in 2010. So, your message at the end to "remember the ones you love" really hit hard, again. I am not saying these things to make you sad, but to say, "Thank you." I started watching your and Weylie's channels to help me not forget my Cantonese. It's been decades since hearing or speaking Cantonese on a daily basis. Plus, I married into my husband's Caucasian family. In a way, seeing you both interact with your families makes to feel closer to my heritage and remember my family. So, again, thank you.

i feel embarrassed saying this but I used to be ashamed of my parents homemade chinese food. I would bring it to school in elementary school and everyone around me had sandwiches and I was the odd one out / they would make fun of me. I would try to hide it and try to be more like the other kids. Now of course I LOOOOVE my parents food and I cant believe I ever felt ashamed about it!!

This video really made me home sick. I'm currently living in Australia for more than 10 years, and due to covid I haven't been home for 3 years. Sometimes I wonder why should I live so far away from my family, as much as I like the culture and have a great job and friends here. Simple things like sharing a meal together with your family is something I haven't been able to do for a long long time. Thank you Wah for making this video.
