  • Hey guys! At the beginning of the school year I shared how we were starting a new spelling curriculum for our 3rd grader since we were having some trouble with the traditional spelling approach. Upon recommendation from our homeschool assessor, we decided to give Spelling You See a try.
In this video I’m giving ya’ll my honest thoughts and review of this program. If you have given this curriculum a try, let me know your thoughts and if you’ve had success as well! Thanks!

Thanks for this thorough review! And I especially loved your point at the end about acknowledging our kids’ successes! 🙌🏻 Such a better mindset than negative reinforcement. I’m sold! 💖
What core LA did you use?

I hope you guys find that it works well for you family!
For younger kids up through 3rd grade we have use Abeka. At fourth grade we switch over to IEW for writing and Fix-It Grammar for grammar.

Thank you so much for this review. I'm in the first year of homeschooling and I have a kid who struggled all throughout a "brick and mortar" setting and this was something I was intimidated to start. I am so excited to order this for her after seeing your video.

@@livingthegandeelife5565 This was exactly what I needed to help my kiddo! We never ended up doing the Friday days since our school days are only Monday-Thursday but I saw a huge improvement in her over the year with just the 4 days. She gained so much more confidence in reading in such a short amount of time. I am so thankful I found this resource. Thank you again for sharing your review, it was such a huge help.

We've done a full phonics program that included spelling and like you said it gets so confusing with the rules and the reasons why you choose which "chunk" to use. So he's a great reader but not good at spelling. I think he's really going to enjoy this program! He is not a spelling list kid.

Hi, thanks for your video. I was wondering how long it will take to finish up Level C. Is it for a year or for 6 months?

Do you think if a child were to start with a higher level then A would they have some trouble getting into it?

No, I do not think they'd have trouble getting into it. My son started on Level C and did just fine with it.
