"I've never heard of Rush." is fightin' words in Canada.
In America too 😅
I'm in Australia and I ain't heard of them either
@@greekkidshows9373 Them's fightin' words.
greek kid shows bouta catch these hands 👀
Take off you hose head, eh
"That drum setup is nuts"
Neil's Drums: "This isn't even my final form!"
One of his smaller sets!
Until the massive drum solo live ..
Haha! DB references
Neil donated his drums to around 200 schools. I bet it wasn’t a single drum per school.
"His mind is not for rent, To any god or government"... Words I've lived by since the day this song was released.
Love your name dude ;)
Three of the most talented rock musicians in one band. Rush was incredible. RIP Neil. Best drummer of all time.
Geddy Lee sings, plays bass and plays bass with his feet (pedals) when he plays keyboard.
Neil Peart is your favorite drummer's favorite drummer. RIP Professor
And Alex, heh, simply kicks ass.
Now check: The Spirit of Radio, Limelight, Free Will...for starters. 🤘😏
Spirit of the Radio is hands down my favorite Rush song!
@@jamesschmid1975 Mine's Free Will but SoR is a close second.
@@thequirkyquark Outstanding correction/addition. Thanks!
and yyz and 2112 but that one would probably no be a video because of how long it is
Red Sector A is great too!
It's incredible that only 3 people make all these sounds.
Rush is freaking epic 🍻🍁
Joseph Crowe all these years and thousands of listens later, that still blows me away
The epic phenomenon of the power trio. ie Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, ELP.....
2:57 "Look at all those drums! That drum setup is nuts!"
Oh Alex... you sweet summer child... you have no idea _what_ you're getting yourself into. XD
😂😂
Yeah lol...Alex should react to his drum solos.
"Why does no one put this much passion into their music anymore?" CUE: SPIRIT OF RADIO. And by the way, your mom is awesome.
the best comment I have heard about Neil is this " whoever your favorite drummer is, his or her favorite was Neil " RIP Professor
you need to check out their tune "YYZ" and, preferably, the live version with Neil's drum solo.
I second this motion.
Exit Stage Left version.
Motion carried.
This, all this! I think that the live version from a show of hands is the go to.
listen to YYZ alex you have to!!!
"Tom Sawyer" is an anthem. Neil Peart was a wizard with lyrics. He wrote all of their lyrics, after he joined Rush, after the first album. Go find them, if you haven't already and read them.
Neil wrote most of the lyrics. Geddy Lee wrote Different Strings and Neil worked with another lyricist when he wrote Tom Sawyer and Closer to the Heart.
"Tom Sawyer" is, in fact, co-written with: Pye Dubois (dedicated lyricist for the band: MAX WEBSTER - and legends in their own right!).
"Tom Sawyer" is based on a poem that Pye wrote, entitled: "Louis The Lawyer" - Neil was inspired and used some of Pye's words, altering and adding others!
...98% of Rush's lyrics, however, are 100% written by Neil and come from his mind and reading and feelings!
@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra I have a strong suspicion that Pye Dubois was writing the poem about Neil Peart. A lot of the bands that Rush toured with, including Kiss, Uriah Heap and Max Webster had a really keen sense of wit and humour and the members of Rush were more often than not subject to a lot of well intended ribbing and satire. Pye Dubois, being a poetic and lyrical genius in his own right obviously found Neil to be a fascinating oddiity in the backstage world and it is my theory that he decided a poetic parody of the younger lad would be a fun endeavor. It seems Neil was impressed with the result and asked Pye if he could have the poem and take artistic licence to craft it into song lyrics. The one main clue I have for this theory is based on one verse - Though his mind is not for rent
Don’t put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day’s events - I believe this word "riding" is a typo. Pretty sure it's actually "writing out the day's events".
If somebody has the album sleeve version of the liner notes I believe you will find I'm correct. IDK but considering that Neil kept both a pocket notebook and a diary and wrote notes and chronicles on a daily basis, this verse is a perfectly apt description of what it might have been like to be around him on a daily basis.
I would also guess that this poem came about after a brief and possibly heated argument with Neil either with Pye himself or any one of the other cast of characters that would've been around. Hence the name Louis the Lawyer. I can just imagine an annoyed Neil ripping a strip off of someone for saying the wrong thing. Coming to his own defence with his finely tuned philosophical perception and his mean, mean pride. 'Mean' in each utterance having different variants of that words definition. Mean as in with intent and then 'mean' as in don't cross me coz I'll fight to the death. Of course this is just me imagining how this might have gone. Purely my own conjecture but I wouldn't be surprised if I am pretty close to the truth here. I have studied a lot of Pye Dubois lyrics and just thinking about his affinity for double meanings and reference to urban legend and mythology makes me imagine this scenario as being very possible.
@@C_Melvyn_James Firstly, For ME, personally, Pye Dubois is my "Bob Dylan." He's, for me. the ultimate lyricist EVER and the one who most reverberates with muysense of self and the Universe. Entirely.
{no disrespect to Peart or Dylan or any other great lyricist, either. There are a number of them out there and I admire many, if not, most ...Just" Pye is "my guy." Always has been, always will be.)
RIP Neil, you'll be missed. He was and amazing Drummer, still cant get over it. Thanks for all the great beats Neil. Your music will live on.
Kinda amazed you can go your whole life without hearing Tom Sawyer. Anyways you definitely need to check out more Rush, one of the best bands ever.
*whole life*
Me too
Going on your comment, i guess they have been around a long time
What country are they from?
Maybe they haven't reached Australian ears
@@greekkidshows9373 They were widely known in Australia globally. They're gods of rock, been around since the seventies and i'm only 18 living in Melbourne. The trio were often questioned of their sonic ability when all these sounds came from 3 people.
They've been around since the 70's and they're one if the biggest names in classic rock. Sounds like you need to ask your parents about some of their music
That drum set up is actually one of his SMALLER ones :)
...that's what I was thinkin', too! 🤣
Man obeyed a simple rule "go big or go home" and fuck if he didn't go big.
steve machemer seriously?! My god!
What's awesome about how Neil plays is he actually uses every single piece too. It's not just for show
Neil was a compositional rock drummer. Very rare. He liked having a lot of choices when writing his parts, hence the giant sets.
Once he got into electronics and sampling around 1983, brah, the sonic world became his oyster.
And I'm guessing from the results, he really liked oysters.
"I have never heard of Rush." Astounding, considering the amount of rock or metal you have reacted to!! Lol
IKR
Exactly
Yep, don't believe him.
I agree, he was already proven a lier with the Smells like teen spirit reaction (which he ended up removing), guess he still hasn’t learned his lesson
EXACTLY. I'm tired of this dude lying!!
"He's your favorite drummer's favorite drummer"
RIP Neil Peart
RIP to one of Rock's greatest drummers of all time! You should definitely react to Neil's Live Drum Solo! It will blow your mind all over your room
Phillip Wilcox you mean the live version of YYZ right?
@@hankvoight3326 I'm referring to Live in Frankfurt.
Limelight by Rush slaps. Also Spirit of The Radio
No "the". Just "Spirit of Radio"
It’s THE SPIRIT OF RADIO
Neil's book, "Ghost Rider: Riding the Healing Road" is his journey after his 1st wife & oldest child died. That book helped me through many deaths of friends & family, especially my dad's.
Every tribute to Neil is appreciated. Possibly the greatest drummer who has ever lived. Excellent reaction.
To really FEEL what Rush is about live, you MUST react to "YYZ live in Rio"... Seriously, do yourself a favor, it's a real treat!!
Other very good Rush songs include Spirit of Radio, Limelight, La Villa Strangiato, Subdivision, Working Man, Hemisphere, and I could go on and on and on... ^^
Oh and to fully grasp how of big a legend Neil was, react to his drum solo (live in Frankfurt)...
Hard pass on the Rio version. Exit Stage Left version has the drum solo you guys are sleeping on.
@@mariomariolemieux982 Both are awesome. The ESL solo was the shot heard round the musical world, and the Rio version was all about the audience. 60,000 ppl singing along to an instrumental?! Unbelievable how much Brazil showed their love.
@@MrRezRising If we're trying to celebrate the life and work of Neil Peart, do you want to listen to the crowd or do you want to listen to Neil Peart? It's not a hard choice.
@@mariomariolemieux982 It's subjective. The technician in me says ESL is better (though recorded much earlier in his career), but the performer in me says Rio because for that show the interaction with the crowd was off the charts.
To answer you directly: Neil was an entertainer. Without the crowd he fought to earn every night, you wouldn't have Rush or any band, so his relationship with the crowd is definitely something to be celebrated, along with the paradiddles and flamacues, and the Mccallen. ✌
RezRising THIS, so much this. Both of your points are dead on. I laugh a little every time I hear the crowd singing along but it gets emotional if I think about it in those terms, of all those people showing that much love. I only got to see Rush once, on the TFE tour, but any time with those guys onstage is an amazing time.
to truly hear Neil's skills on drums you MUST listen to La Villa Strangiato.
Urmie yes yes yes....
Urmie facts
Love the guitar in this, Kirk Hammet said it took him a year to learn to sound close to Alex Lifeson in this song.
Villa is a drummer’s bane for the untalented. Listening to the catalog over the last few weeks I have to throw up the drum line in The Weapon, the syncopation and use of live and synthetic drums is really quite amazing. RIP Professor, you tended your garden well. Love and respect !
La Villa Strangiato, then Xanadu.
Early Rush - That drum setup is unreal.... 30 years later, Neil Peart... "hold my beer..."
And...beyond the talent...three of the most humble, down to earth and funny guys you will ever see...so much respect for these guys and so happy to see the reaction they received when they were inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame in 2013
Congratulations for finally coming out from under the rock you've been living under.
Thank you, I scrolled to find the "under a rock" comment to upvote.
E. James Shepard 🤣 thank you! Glad to be out from under there!
To really appreciate Neil Peart's talent as a drummer, check out his drum solo live in Frankfurt. I still get chills watching it
It is the pathos in the song.
Once a friend now lost, but is remembered to this day and beyond evermore.
Alex: Moving Pictures is the name of the album "Tom Sawyer" is on.
I know you don't usually react to complete albums, but if you ever made an exception?
Not one weak song on the entire album.
None.
My top favorite songs from the album?
Tom Sawyer
Limelight
Red Barchetta
YYZ
Vital Signs
But the whole album kills.
And yes, Neil's drum kits got even more epic as time went on.
Sadly, Geddy lost most of his vocal upper register later, but their musicianship never flagged.
If I remember correctly, this lyric was cowritten by Pye Dubois, who was the lyricist for Canadian prog rockers Max Webster.
Why is that important?
Read on.
(Max Webster's lead vocalist and lead guitarist Kim Mitchell has this deep baritone voice that dips down into bass occasionally.
Why do you care?
Find the song "Battlescar", which was recorded live in the studio by Rush AND Max Webster.
Together.
Two band duet/duel.
And bassist keyboardist lead singer for Rush Geddy Lee has the high tenor voice.
That's how to tell Kim and Geddy apart.
Awesome song.
Extra badass.
Oh.
And?
Mind-blowingly cool.😎
Thank me later.🙂
Battlescar originally appeared on Max Webster's Universal Juveniles album.
There are a few live versions of the song floating around UA-cam.
The original studio version is the best.)
From Wikipedia's entry on Moving Pictures:
"After a short break, Rush regrouped at Phase One Studios in Toronto in July 1980 with members of rock band Max Webster, to record "Battlescar" for that group's album Universal Juveniles.
During the sessions, Max Webster's lyricist, Pye Dubois, suggested a song that he thought was suitable for Rush to record; this was developed into "Tom Sawyer".
Rush then moved to Stony Lake, Ontario to write and prepare material for their new album.
The sessions were productive, with "The Camera Eye" the first song to be worked on, followed by "Tom Sawyer", "Red Barchetta", "YYZ" and "Limelight".
Following the initial writing sessions, Rush returned to Phase One Studios with their co-producer Terry Brown and prepared demos of the songs.
The band worked on them further during rehearsals of their 1980-1981 tour which began in September and included "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight" in their live set prior to recording."
For more awesome drumming see Neil's solo, live in Frankfurt
Neil Peart is your favorite drummer's favorite drummer.
Geddy (Gerry, his parents couldn't pronounce it so Geddy stuck) Lee's parents were Polish Jews that survived Auschwitz, Dachau and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps.
Alex Lifeson was kidnapped I mean "borrowed" by Ricky of the Trailer Park Boys and ends up teaching Bubbles Closer to the Heart on the ride back to the trailer park.
Maddog Jones
Funny thing that story about Geddy Lee. My brothers name is Gary and our Great Grandma, straight from Poland 🇵🇱, always pronounces it, “Geddy.”
Rush - Xanadu (exit stage left performance).
Rush - La Villa Strangiato
Ya welc.
>"that drum setup is nuts!"
ohhoho just look at his later kits, that baby kit is nothin.
Alex you need to react to Neil's drum solo from Frankfurt, it's his best solo by far and you'll be blown away by how good he truly was. RIP Neil Peart
Fightin' words.
Exit...Stage Left solo for the win. Frankfurt will probably go down in history as "the" solo that best represented his growth as a musician over 40 years...but I was 15 in 1985 when I heard the ESL solo...and then spent countless hours learning how to...well...air drum it (no way could I play it then).
Emotional impact is higher, for me, from the Exit solo.
Plus, so much cowbell!
Live In Rio!
RIP Neil , forever in our hearts , great vid man !
You have just listened to the best bass player in the world, the best drummer in the world and a top 3 guitarist...Welcome to the wonderful world of Rush! Don't stop now.
Neil is your favorite drummers favorite drummer.
Remember this is a THREE piece band. Sounds like 20 people but it's 3 incredibly talented musicians
Neil Peart touched everybody, no matter if you enjoyed Rush's music or not. He was nicknamed "The Professor" on the drums for good reason. He wrote majority of Rush's lyrics and was always a secretive down to earth man. A very giant tragedy in music when he passed. Heavily opinionated by many but he was considered the most talented and versatile drummer on the planet. YYZ is always a great track and if you want some classic rock by them try "Finding my way" or Working them Angels"
Good to see you enjoyed my favorite band of all time! I'm a grown ass man and I sobbed when I found out. Neil influenced me in so many ways, from his tenacious drive in his drumming, to his eloquent writing, adventurous spirit, and simply the way he went about things.
Rush has such a deep catalog of varying styles and influence, but for as much as they've changed over 40 years they never lost their "Rush-ness". Each of the three members are virtuosos in their own right, put them together and they're absolutely magic!
From three different eras I'll recommend "Xanadu", "Subdivisions", and "Far Cry".
You're awesome too Alex!
One of the most talented bands ever, The best 3 piece band ever, The best drummer of all time. Each member is in the TOP10
You are so lucky to still have your mom, enjoy ever precious minute with her, she seems so sweet.
Brother, I have a VERY hard time believing you've never heard this song before. I've heard this song 100000 times without even WANTING to hear it 😂
Nick Pomplon It plays at every single sporting event
Honestly I'm pretty sure I've never heard it randomly somewhere, only intentionally.
That’s the thing if you hear Rush you immediately want to hear Rush
You could use more Rush in your life. "Subdivisions", "Limelight" "Spirit of Radio" & "YYZ" are all worthy of attention.
Especially YYZ and Spirt of Radio!!!
Check out YYZ from their Live in Rio concert. The crowd sings along with the instrumental. It's amazing.
YYZ from Rush in Rio was amazing
lets be honest, we could all use more Rush in our lives. Then again there is never enough
I must comment that when someone is listening to a band for the first time, I always recommend listening to the studio albums first. Then when you get the songs you can go to the live stuff.
I will also recommend the Rush songs....

Limelight
Red Barchetta
The Camera Eye

Spirit of Radio
Freewill
Jacob's Ladder

You have my deepest sympathies for just now discovering RUSH.
My favorite all-around rock band. I never gave anyone crap for never reacting or being unfamiliar with Rush, If you didn't, you didn't. However, Neil was the lyricist and drummer par excellence! Geddy Lee is one of the top rock bassists and Alex is a guitarist who even Eddie Van Halen called "The Best." Together, they made great music for over 40 years and have sold more studio and live albums that anyone except the Beatles and Elvis. Also, One of the greatest fan bases outside The Grateful Dead.
Someone asked Eddie Van Halen who he thought was the "best" guitarist was. His response was (paraphrasing), "I dunno. Go ask Alex Lifeson."
Steve Vai was asked what his favorite chord was (ya know, guitarists are way too competitive) and he said the opening chord from Hemispheres. "The Alex chord, since he invented it."
Kind words for rock's most underrated guitarist, Alex Lifeson.
If you truly want to see Neil Peart's talent watch the drum solo from Rush Live in Frankfurt
Richard Purcell that was an amazing performance. He has to react to that one. If he thought this drum set was big.
One of the greatest songs ever, from a 3 piece band. There is a reason why Rush is one of the greatest bands ever. Gerry Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart🤘 Seeing them play this song live was incredible.
In Rush you had the greatest drummer in rock history, who was also the greatest lyricist in rock history, playing with one of the greatest bass players in rock history and one of the most underrated guitarists, again, in rock history. And thinking about Neil's death still makes me cry.
You just heard the BEST DRUMMER IN ROCK HISTORY . period 🥁
I have played drums for 11 years and Neil Peart was my idol. Thanks so much dude! Do The Spirit of Radio next!
I think this is actually the best and most entertaining 'Tom Sawyer' reaction video I've watched so far (out of about a dozen), also thanks to his lovely mom's input 😊
Amazing band, I took my son to see RUSH for his first concert in 94. It's amazing to me that Neil Peart never lost it, even though he was 67 with arthritis. Probably the tightest band ever.
It's no wonder the classic rock stations have the same songs from the 50's - 70's on repeat, there definitely is something more imaginative and organic about their sound.
Your personality rocks dude. Your comments made me lol at work while my headphones were in, everybody just looked at me thinking "dude's lost it". Anyways, cool story you shared in the beginning. Keep up the infectious positivity bro 👍🏻. I was unaware of this man's passing, very sad. Glad you were able to get into their music so soon after. As always, keep up the fantastic work Alex.
Adam House 😂🤣 embrace that weirdness! It’s a good thing! I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos :)
Adam House much love!! ❤️❤️❤️🤘🏼
@@AlexHefner Hey Alex. I'm sure you're super backlogged with requests and I've never made a request/suggestion before but any chance you'd do Nightwish Romanticide live at Wacken? You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! (It's not a super long epic like Greatest Show on Earth if you're pressed for time :D). Thanks man. Peace out 🤘😉🤘
Tom Sawyer was also the first song I heard by Rush, but in 1982.
Rush - “Limelight”
I’ll be waiting.
" that drum set is unreal!"
and that's the small one.
Rip Neil .. you will be missed .. ty for the reaction ... one of my fav all time songs
YYZ live in Rio. Three beats of a bell and the crowd go nuts, singing along perfectly to an instrumental track. Shows how they still had it near the end of their career.
I don’t mean no disrespect but, what planet you been living on, you’ve never heard of Rush, wow, they are one of the greatest bands ever.
Exactly I aint buying it!!
Give him a break, he has apparently fed himself a bland diet of dismal hippity-hop pablum, it probably never occurred to him what tasty quality music was available
You have to do a reaction to a Neil Peart solo. It's like your watching Van Gogh paint Starry Night.
My prayers are finally answered. I hope you do more rush
PhantomDust916 🤣🥳🥳
Alex Hefner the easiest one: just search “Neil Peart drum solo” on UA-cam and react to the first one, in Frankfurt, in think. THAT’S what a real drum set looks like, and it wasn’t even his final form
Thanks for finally getting to my favorite band. Three of the best musicians in their respective field. You are going to enjoy this trip.
Rush was the first band I ever saw live. I love music so much so I have seen a lot of concerts but its pretty amazing to have your first concert be Rush. Knowing my love and appreciation for music, my parents took me to see them when I was really little. I must've been only 12 or 13 years old. Also... Let me say if you think Neil's drum set was impressive in this video, I will say--that was his set in the 80s. It only grew over the years. In later years, it became a 360 degree "round the world" drum set that completely circled him and would pick up and revolve on stage while he played it. He's considered the world's greatest drummer and was a big part of the rock world and is missed by many
That comment about the empty drum set at the end was a nice catch. I never even noticed that before and I've watched that video 10+ times since Neil passed.
Alex: Why the Hell doesn't music today not sound like that?
Answer: Mediocre talent, laziness, and auto-tune. There is nothing in their age to make crap sound like platinum. What you see with Rush is what you get; pure rock talent.
I seen your face when Geddy Lee first started singing and yes Alex that's what you would look like with long hair... Love your videos.
Love your story about the lady and the high-5. I love doing that occasionally. Just complimenting someone to help make their day. It warms my cold heart to see others doing it. Now... on to business. Never heard of Rush!?! Did you grow up on a monk farm? Rush. Is. Awesome! When I saw them in '77, I said "Those guys are my favorite band of all time!", and it stayed true through today. "Tom Sawyer" is a classic. One of the best.
The Spirit of Radio is a musical masterpiece and a must listen!
First time I heard this song was from playing Rock Band. I was obsessed with the drum part. I would play this over and over til I perfected it on expert and that still wasn’t enough for me. Ended up getting a real drum set the next Christmas and it’s all because of this song. Thank you Neil. And thank you Rock Band lol
Okay i had my 11 year old in my truck listening to ac/dc told him to groove with it he said no. Later was playing Rush fly by night. Looked in my mirror he was air drumming... i was so proud of him😀😀😀😀
I saw Neil Peart and Rush over 20 times in concert. They were the best band to hear live. RIP Neil #professor
"That drum setup is unreal" -- You should see his gold-plated set. Or the one he used for the Exit... Stage Left tour that included a lot of really unusual percussion instruments so he could play songs like The Trees and Xanadu.
1981 Böblingen Germany, my first concert was Rush...and they blew my mind, been a fan ever since. The album moving pictures which Tom Sawyer is from...is a masterpiece.
My very first concert was Rush in 1981, the tour for the album that Tom Sawyer is on.
It was Rush's very first concert of that tour, too. Feb 20th? in Kalamazoo :)
Rush song, XANADU...live. one of there greatest live performances and songs. Great comment you made right after the song. Music does need more feelings, emotions and creativity.
That’s not even Neil’s craziest kit. Just a few years after this he started incorporating electronic drum pads and things really got crazy.
Greatest drummer in the world! Song is about (I think) not following the crowd.
I was fortunate enough to have see every tour from 1984 (Grace Under Pressure) until the retired (R40) all together it was 22 times, Memories I'll cherish forever.
Neil Peart wrote all of Rush's lyrics. The guy was a poet, an author, a philosopher a song writer and imo, the best drummer who ever lived. RIP, Neil Peart😥
Great tip about Neil.....he was on top of his drumming game, but he wanted to get better. He noticed the drummer for I think it was Journey had gotten loads better at drumming and he asked him about it. He told Neil that he took lessons from a guy....dont know his name but you could look it up.....So Neil started taking lessons......very humble guy just wanted to be the best he could be.
"The Professor" Best Drummer ever... RIP
Love your face as you go from "I wonder what this is all about" to "hmmm, this is good" to "wow, this is great" to "omfg these guys are talented" to "how in God's name have I lived all these years without knowing this level of precision and creativity was even possible?"
Every time I see these reaction videos where a person has never heard of the band or a song, it makes me believe they've been living under a rock all their life. These songs have been around for years and so has Rush! RIP NEIL PEART
OoOOooOOoOOooOOo hes doing the angled head bang (side mosh) he's learnt!!
Honestly just google “Neil Peart drum solo” and I guarantee, you will be impressed.
One member of Rush, has more talent than most bands put together!! Doesn't matter which man!! Put them together, and the GREATEST musical talent ever seen is in one room!!!
I LOVE seeing people who have been stuck under rocks for their lives react to Rush for the first time. They were way cutting edge and progressive in the 70's and 80's. That's why they aren't as well known and popular to some people - they created and played for the music, not for the radio. After their second album, Fly By Night, was released, the music establishment said that their songs were too long for radio - so they went on to release 2112 where the entire A side was one epic song! Classic.
Never clicked on a video so fast. Love this song
Mr. Murder Bunny I hope you enjoyed it!
Alex Hefner sure did
Fun fact: Neil Peart was not only the drummer, he was also the lyricist. He was ALSO an accomplished writer of non-fiction, and cycled and motor-cycled all over the world.
Neil would take his bicycle on the road with him then when they would leave town Neil would ride the first 100 miles and then have the bus pick him up.
@@cherryflavored1897 He also later began riding his motorcycle between venues.
Yes he did
I didn't know him personally but i still feel like i miss him already.
the drum setup is nuts cause neil pert is in everyone's top 5 drummers in the world hes incredible
"Limelight" is probably my favorite drum track of all time.
How in the world are there still people who haven't heard Rush? It sucks someone has to die to get proper recognition :(
Nano Machine Gaming um, Rush has been properly recognized for decades. Calm tf down, Boomer.
@@NoctemAeternusMusic such a weak response.
If you like Rush, try “Spirit of the Radio” by them. Super upbeat and showcases their talent as a band.
Roll the bones
"The Spirit of Radio"
I had a stereo with an alarm function where I could wake up to a CD. This was my go-to song. It always worked-I was always awake before the singing began, though sometimes I’d let it blast through the house for a while before turning it off.
The whole 2112 album is just pure talent. It flows so smoothly.
Also your mom is a gem.
First time I saw what Neil Peart was really capable of was when I saw him performing in a Buddy Rich memorial concert. Keep in mind that Buddy Rich was the best drummer that ever lived. Neil Peart however is probably the rock drummer that ever lived. Its all up to speculation but the versatility of Neil and his technique level is just unsurpassed in his genre.
This is one of the best symphonies ever made by these three people. Try to react to other songs, especially YYZ. You can choose either the original version or Live in Rio.
Anyway, RIP Neil Peart. My all-time favorite drummer.
The real talent shined in their live shows 👍. (especially for a trio)
First time hearing RUSH?????? O my god... just glad you now know who they are. YOU, my friend, have been missing out. Thank you for indulging in the work of these legends n keep up the good work, bro. Rock on🤘🎸
