This was good. Thanks. It would have been awesome if you had gone into depth regarding why and how one would use: peaking, histogram, etc., all the things you regularly use and how you use them under various lighting circumstances. Maybe a followup video?
Make sure you have all accessories in box 📦 my monitor came without hdmi cable and tri pod connection! Other than that it’s awesome I didn’t want to wait for shipping so I purchased the needed accessories from Best Buy. Slightly disappointed but things happen 🤷🏿♂️
hI TANK YOU FOR THE FIDEO, i HAVE A QUESTION: when i connect the camera, nikon d810 to the monitor the preview is not full screen, only the preview shot makes me see the shot in full screen. depends on what? in your video instead until the link appears full screen. AH iI HAVE A 7INCH LILLIPUT
Hi, can you please upload video when we can clearly see how good/bad is response time between camera monitor and this monitor? I am curious if there is any delay or lag which can not be very good for fast camera movements and action shooting. Thank you in advance
The latency is inherent in the HDMI connection and not in the monitor itself as is commonly thought. If you want superior latency performance you’ll need to invest in a monitor that offers SDI output. But this comes at a cost.
HOw's latency? Also, I think I'm seeing this doesn't provide any possibility for firmware update, eh? ALSO, how is the zoom? Can you really check focus with zoom?
As near as I can tell, the zoom function doesn't have a way to make it function. It shows up in the menu. Change it all you want, nothing changes. Cheap monitor.
Did you notice any kind of flicker from the Lilliput while filming it? I am trying to find an on camera monitor that is completely free of flicker and PWM. It's something that can rarely be seen with the naked eye, yet for sensitive individuals it's effects can still be felt in the form of headache and eye strain. You can check for it pretty easily by pointing a camera at the screen and adjusting the framerate and shutter speed.
Does peaking work on cameras that have it already as a feature? Or does peaking work for regardless of whether your camera has it or not. I love filming on my Nikon D750, but sometimes the lack of focus peaking makes me work so much harder for the shot.
If I set on HD on my Sony a6500 the camera display turns off and I can't use the touch of the camera anymore! In 4k I can use both displays! Is there any solution?
On my 7s Lilliput monitor the false colours are different from the published colour chart. On mine the correct exposure for skin = green / ire 55 with one stop lower being grey and one stop over being pink
I have same a7s monitor but peaking swich on even not seen red effect... I tried in my camera peaking setting... Camera saw good peaking effect.. Give me guidance..
just bought the Lilliput A7S for my Sony a7r (first model) but once connected the monitor to the camera I can not look at the picture full screen. What can I do?

@@SzDaly when you change shooting modes on your camera from video to photo do you see a difference? Maybe check you hdmi output settings on your camera, see if anything makes a difference there?
Shame you never got an answer. It adds black bars but my version only does so when NOT filming...when recording it fills the entire screen and there is no marker...
Is it possible to record 4k with the Sony a7s and this monitor? I cant see anyplace to put a recorder or an sd card, so, is this unable? You can only use this monitor like an liveview bigger screen?
Hello, thank you for your review. Could you please advise if canon lp-e6 batteries are compatible out of the box ? Does it include the plate for it ? Thanks in advance!
Hello, my monitor does a weird "beeping" sound/noise when plugged in my GH5S and turning the audio volume up to 30 or more. Is that normal? I believe it is an issue with echo-looping..? (If I plug headphones into the monitor all is OK). THX
Hi @IkanMasins. Not sure if you were still figuring out the full screen setting. I work with a Ikan monitor and I have seen the same setting for other brands, you should look for DSLR scaling and it should change it to full screen and maybe a few other ratios like 16:9 etc, just scroll through the different DSLR scaling options until your screen looks like your camera screen. Also, you should search on UA-cam for best camera settings for external monitors on your specific camera, sometimes you need to go into your actual camera menu and change the external output settings, to auto detect or source, depends on the camera and monitor though. Either way the monitor should have a DSLR scaling option somewhere, hope it helps, good luck with the monitor! :)
Many thanks for the review. I can see a lot of lag between the GH5 audio meters and the monitor meters, how do you record the dialog with such a lag? Otherwise looks like very basic (no waveform, vectoroscope) but nice monitor for GH5 especially for that price. One more thing could you check the IRE levels in false color option. Many inexpensive monitors (like Feelworld F7) does not show real IRE just very aprox. values.
CATWALK i def. see what you mean on the audio levels. Not sure how to check the false color but I'll give it a google and see what I can find out as it applies to this one. If it is on spot with what it should be, isn't false color more desired these days rather than waveforms?
Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid such a lag/delay could be very tiring while dialog recording... False color accuracy you can check in video editing software that shows waveform view e.g. FCPX and other pro video editing software (does A7S show IRE scale in false color mode?). Professionals doesn't need false color, everything is on the waveform, but false color could be handy but only IF it's accurate especially in shadows and highlights.
Is this peaking feature peaking the footage or its own on screen display?? Also I noticed a slight delay between the camera's screen and the Lilliput screen. Is it bad enough to effect filming (fast action footage not conversation type stuf where it doesnt matter as much)?
Thank you. Two more questions. Can you monitor audio through it? ie does it show you the audio levels you are recording from the camera, so that you could monitor it? Also does it have a power button and does that stop the battery from running down? Many of these screens dont have power buttons and if so, they dont stop your battery from draining (With some you need to remember to remove the batteries so they dont run down).
Dan Everton yep, you can have the audio from the camera ran through it and it does have a power button to turn it on/off. But I have noticed that leaving the battery in it will drain it, so yea removing the battery each time is a good idea
Okay thanks. One last question, how good does the screen look? Compared to say a retina screen (Im used to looking at that type)? Or how does it compare to other camera monitors?
Your camera is maybe gh5, right? I'm looking for monitor. Before, i use feelworld monitor. But it have some problem with gh5. So i really curious about your monitor can export 4k footage? With your gh5? When you want to playback.
raredreamfootage I'd call them bars or percent you could say. It has a battery icon in the upper left hand corner that has 5 bars on it basically representing 20% 40% 60% 80% 100%.
I have this, but I'm disappointed in the focus peaking. I find it difficult to use. the lower sensitivity helps with pinpoint focus (if you're face is right up to the monitor, but in the field I need to max the sensitivity to see anything on the go... but when I do that the peaking makes it difficult to nail the focus. sometimes I feel I'm better off sans monitor and eyeballing the lcd. Just wondering if I would be experiencing the same thing with one of the atomos monitors, or if this is one of the places where the costs were cut.
