Same thing can be said for China and Pakistan too. India is no different. All big countries want to have influence over the neighboring countries of their enemy countries. Just like USA has influence over China's neighboring countries. Same way China has influence over India's neighboring countries. Same way India has influence over Pakistan's neighboring countries. If they don't have influence directly they influence on their opposition parties. And they all use it to instigate the enemy countries. So its a great game, good thing for India is that USA has become its strategic alley so influence of China can be defeated by using Imf, the way USA did it with Pakistan. India will do it with Maldives, etc. As for Srilanka the Srilankan govt knows the island is not an issue, its just been propagated by Bjp to influence voters in Tamil nadu due to election. After election Modi will say it was just a jumla.

It's good to have good relationship with neighbours.
Let's take example of Maldives... India had a wonderful relationship with the previous govt. But,now Moizzu and his govt prefer China more than India and are being guided by China in their actions. In spite of this India helps thus country as needed. So it's Nalfives which is trying to destroy the relationship.
I do not see any issues with Bangladesh as such. The opposition party of Bangkadesh trying the same trick like Moizzu (India out) but it really did not work.
Bottomline: the neighbours are trying their best stay away from India. India never interferes into the internal natter of any country.
