I love The Long Walk!! I read that it's actually very metaphorical based on the Vietnam War, when the young men got called up etc. I'm so glad you're getting into meditation. I don't practice it like I used to but it's definitely been very helpful for me. I love that it has positive effects on the brain itself and changes the neuroplasticity. Yay Dark Tower!!! 👏👏👏 I'm rereading Christine now. I read it in high school long ago. I recommend Roadwork and The Running Man (Bachman). I try not to choose vomit-y books. 🤣🤣
It's going ok.... feeling a bit drawn out to get started but creepy things are starting to happen. I just read a bit every night in bed, not rushing through.
So much Stephen King! 😳 That’s amazing! I’ve been a daily mediator for years and feel like it’s helped keep me sane! Here for you and sending you much support! 🤍
You had a good reading month in August. I think I read 3 books? Maybe?? I am incredibly excited to (re)start The Dark Tower series!!!Happy Reading in September.
Yeah I don't know what happened in August, I was just able to fly through the books! I'm excited to see how the rest of the year unfolds and what else I can get through haha
HI!!! I’ve been away from BookTube for way too long & I’m in a book slump! I love King!! I totally agree about The Gunslinger! I’m also rereading The Dark Tower series in September! That last book will stick with you so you might need to increase the rating, I think that’s his yuckiest book. Hooray for having your books back!! I hope there’s a shelf tour or book tag below … 😁
I hated-though hate might be too strong a word-the majority of what I finished reading in August. The only thing I loved was Jonah’s Gourd Vine by Zora Neale Hurston. But by the end of the month, I was still in the midst of my reread of Dune and my buddy reads of Exhalation by Ted Chiang and The Mythic Dream, all of which I loved.
Here's what I read in August Blood meridian An echo of things to come The broken kingdoms The girl who played with fire The beauty of living twice by sharon stone Chain of gold House of chains The Republic of thieves The ruin of kings Ship of destiny The girl a memoir The trouble with peace
I just finished reading the dark tower I really enjoyed the book and the ending shocked me the long walk is one of my favorite books from him I'm planning on reading a few books from king in October I haven't read the dead zone but I have watched the movie I really enjoyed it but I didn't like the tv series

The Long Walk was so good! And yeah, I'm off and on with meditation, but it does feel very good when I do it. How's the reread for Christine?
