I live like about 2 min walk from the fish hatchery. And this lake has hundreds of native Americans ruins and thousands of artifacts along the shore. Plus gems along the east side.
Well just so you’re aware you’re not allowed to take any of these items. Furthermore if it’s on land considered to be part of the greater protected area of the national park it’s a federal crime, and is a jail-able offense. And no, your “kids not knowing any better” isn’t going to work as a valid excuse. A mother was arrested just last year for this very thing, even though it was her young children who had taken the objects, which were seashells. It’s considered poaching.
I’d like to know just out of curiosity exactly which items you took, a brief description of what these items were, the date if you can remember, & the location of each item you took, as well as where these items are currently located. And if you don’t mind what is your current address of residence & your first and last name? I’m thinking about hiking in that area so I’m just curious.
Electrocuting the fish may seem a little “unfair?” No sir, this is downright inhumane. I’m not exactly sure of the legality of this, but I’d be interested to see what the California fish & wildlife preservation department thinks about this. Shame on the folks participating in these callous, destructive acts..
The California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife is actually the agency that invented and implements electro-shocking. It's vital and necessary for gathering data needed to preserve many fish species...
