This was very useful information, and put together lovely as always. My husband said our two biggest outgoings over here after mortgage are energy bills and the council tax, he couldn’t believe that about the water in Bulgaria, we pay £100+ a month here in Cornwall! Thank you so much for sharing, take care, Lisa. xox
Being debt free has always been important to me and Bulgaria has certainly helped us do this. Do let us know in the comments if you can find anything more cheaply where you live?😊
Great video thanks. I compared some of the grocery prices with Aldi, and at the moment we can get an 8 pack (454g) Cumberland sausages £1.79, 2kgs white potatoes 2.5kgs is £1.69, loose onions 99p per kilo, 12 x 100g cat pouches £2.55, toilet rolls x 9 £2.99. In general food is expensive in Bulgaria but household goods can be very cheap in places like Pepco and Jumbo. Although totally agree with you re: cash, free and lower cost water, other utility & house tax bills, being mortgage free, the time and room to grow your own, and lack of materialism (this was a big thing for us). We just wonder how Bulgaria changing from leva to Euro will affect the economy.
Thank you very much for your comment and love your channel! Nice to talk to you. It’s hard to say isn’t it? How it will affect us? Suffice to say that this is still a relatively poor country with a low wages so they won’t be able to charge too much, or I think people will revolt!😊🥰
Good news about the cat food. I have 5 cats and I was concerned about the cost of pet foods. Just put my French house up for sale, so fingers crossed that it will sell quickly, as I've found a house I want to buy. Thanks for the info. 😊
That’s good news! Hope your house sells quickly. There are places you can buy cat food even cheaper than Lidl. We’ve used Lidl for the comparison but we buy cat biscuits from our local pet shop it’s the complete cat food and the cat all of it and it’s £10.50 for 10 kg😊💜
Thank you so much! That’s really kind of you to let me know! I was a bit worried about the sound quality. I’m looking at getting a microphone as soon as I can.😃🥰
Hi there! Very sorry I can’t help you with that! It’s included in the bill and we don’t read Bulgarian very well! But as you can see the electricity is much lower than England. As for the Euro we don’t hear very much about it I no one or two people are worrying about it but it’s been being mentioned now for many years and it’s never happened and if it does happen they can’t put the charges up here too much because of the minimum wage which is very low and people just couldn’t live. Thank you for your comment!😊
Hi there! Yes, our first house tax was cheaper than this one. There must be some kind of a system.😊 and the water tax is paid along with the water bill but we’ve listed it separately for the year. Thanks for your comment!😊💜
@@Escapetoasimplerplaceandtime My house tax is 125 pounds a year. The system is....... the local municipality sets a rate and then applies that rate to the sale value of the house. All municipalities have different rates, Sofia being the highest, Nessebar not far behind.

Thank you very much for your lovely comment! And yes - we used to live in Cornwall too! We couldn’t believe it either when we moved over here😃💜

Our house tax is less. About £8 a year. Is your water tax paid with the house tax at the same time? Or with your water bill? 😊
