If you have seen our previous video, you may have observed that the Stage 2 BMW M340i and the 550BHP Stage 3 Audi TT are some really fast cars! But what happens when you pit those two against probably India's fastest FWD car? We got our hands on a 530BHP Skoda Octavia VRS Stage 3 and it is an absolute monster! How much of a monster? taigun is better in topend also a vw is a vw, xuv 700 has issues with zip zap zoom modes, xuv lacks in topend also if u want more power can tune taigun to stage 1.. its a rocket TBH, go for vw any day. power figures don't matter power to ratio is
Do a rolling race between the m340i vs Octavia VRS. Then we can see the difference. Right now its not fair for the VRS.

Tbh, It was not fair for the m340i as it made around 60-70 bhp lesser than the other two. Despite the horsepower disadvantage, it flew off the line and even maintained it's lead for a while which is why it's a win for the Beemer. Pretty sure if the m340i made 550bhp, it would've easily smoked the Audi.

The tt butchered the m340i , as the length was massive b/w the too , that length is a lot to say in drag races , so yeah m340i didn't give the tt run for its money

Skoda octavia would have got all wheel drive but only because of vw golf they couldn't launch..

Actually, the vRS didn't launch. Since it had regular street tyres, he just slowly took off, specially since the track was damp. No point in trying to destroy the tyres. We did have slicks for this car, but again, the rain kind of ruined the plan of putting them on the vRS.

I seriously fail to understand the stage 3 VRs n i wasnt surprised with the results when coming to Vrs. When i heard the power figures, i was sure that how the hell would all that power be put down to use on a front wheel Vrs n it indeed was that. Waste of HPs IMO. The max i would want from a Vrs would be close to 350hp, that's a sweet spot, Anything over that is sheer waste IMO. Just because u can slap on a bigger turbo n the engine is capable, doesn't mean u go all out, the car itself, the chassis, the drivetrain, the gearbox also should be capable of putting down all that power to use. I guess its just become a game of Numbers in the Mod scene, who has the bigger numbers on paper, great conversation starter amongst enthusiasts.
The vRS was on street tyres (unfortunately the rain meant we couldn't put on the slicks) & the surface was wet.. So not really the ideal conditions for a powerful FWD car.
That said, the vRS clocked the 2nd quickest 100-200kmph timing of the event, only behind the Audi TT. Yes, the 530HP FWD vRS was quicker than the 340i, the Audi R8 & the RS5 in the roll on timings.
Not all of our customers are 20yr olds looking at launch off every red light or street race. We've said this a million times, traction is not an issue once you get into 3rd gear.
Are we talking only about track days, or real world driving here ? In real world driving conditions in city n highways, I'd rather have a car which can put down all that power to good use on any gear or on any revs. I am no 20yr old, if i was one, I'd be the one most excited about more power = better...lol.
Hence if its my daily driver, I'd want as much power as the car can put it to use in regular driving conditions on our roads.
But yeah, if its for show purposes and track day events only, then i would agree. But i'd rather have a fun to drive slower car rather then a faster car which isn't fun on city or highway roads on all that power is wasted until its reached a certain gear or speed. But thats my POV, we can agree to disagree.

550hp tt should be closer to 6.5 +- than 7.5 and 2.0 is lighter than 1450kg ... 1450kg is tt rs territory weight, not basic 2.0 + quattro.
Our 900mtr elevation doesn't help. This car should do 6s at sea level. Also Ambient Temperatures are very hot.
No use of hp if the car is not able to transmit it to the road.. even if it get 1000hp it will still lose.. that is what happening with vrs
Fortunately, not everyone builds a car to launch from the signals. Like we mentioned earlier the vRS actually clocked the 2nd fastest 100-200kmph of the entire day only slower than the Audi TT. That's what our customers look for, reliability, power & really quick roll-on acceleration.
