this is such a good word. sadly I had to learn this the hard way last year. I want to be with the person God has for me. I idolized marriage really bad last year & it led to much sadness & heartache. I trust God & in this season I’m totally depending on Him. He brings me soo much comfort & peace. He is my first love.♥️ sometimes God has to break your heart to save your soul. It may not make sense but it’s for His glory & His will.
I prayed earlier today about my fears of some of the points you made. I used to be so worrisome carrying my past failures with me until God showed me how I was oddly idolizing and obsessing over my mistakes. Not solving anything, putting myself in similar situations all just to fail again. Of course that all changed when I gave everything over to the Lord. I come into agreement with this word, God is bringing me together with my kingdom spouse soon but when I stopped worrying about my past and the purpose of the marriage from God, I was able to better focus on all that He has been having me to do in improving myself for the work ahead. Thank you for sharing your story! I also fasted and prayed for marriage and after a while I got the same Bible verse through my Bible study app, for 6 days consecutively. It was Ezra 8:23 'so we fasted and implored our God for this, and He listened to our entreaty'. I don't know if this counts as a promise, but this is how I understand it. I trust God for sending me a good husband.

What about the people who are already married
The warning against idolatry applies to those of us who are married as well. From experience (as a married person), and according to His Word, God will destroy all of our idols. As such, though marriage is a beautiful gift, our true devotion belongs to the gift-giver (God), and if our gift isn't serving His Kingdom, then it's pointless, really.
