I have one brown skirt and one pair of brown slacks. I can combine them with a cream color classic blouse or a boat neck style cream color sweater - that looks really good. I perhaps can combine skirt / slacks with a delicate small polka dot blouse in the summer; they look awesome!
Same here, I'm pale as paper and black makes me look like constantly I'll. I discovered that very dark blue is my color and looks great with many colors
Gaaaaah! Let's not use the Carrie Bradshaw character as a good example of fashion forward! She looked as if she was trying way too hard to get attention and most of her outfits were hideous! LOL
I was surprised about the brown comment. I can see where your father was coming from, but at the same time, I’m a very warm autumn. Dovetailing on your very first point about ensuring one’s color choices suit their skin, I must wear brown even moreso now than black. Brown looks very good on me. However, the point about brown prints is taken. It may not always be “aging” but for those who have a living memory of the 70’s, I can see why it would be aging.
Just have the hairstyle, and fashion you like and feel good about yourself in the mirror and photos. Don't give a damn for anybody's fashion opinion. Their taste of fashion might not be yours. Genuinely, people who cares about you, will always suggest nice things to you. Instead of just putting you down in many possible ways they could. I have seen all of them. I don't dress up to impress them. I dress up to make myself feel good and happy.
