Old dwarf tragically admits that he can no longer remember anything about his beloved wife, is going senile before our very eyes as he forgets that the Demon King is already dead, and my man asks why that's sad lol...
Sein is a strange character for sure. In a fantasy world with magic, many small villages and towns, demons as natural predators, it's very tricky to put our current world views into the place of the people in the story. We can't compare ourselves too much with how our lives would be in this world, yet it has to be relatable for us to engage in the story. There are a lot of ideas around this episode breaking down the deeper meanings of Old Man Voll and Sein that are too vast to get into here. Great to see you all getting to the final 1/3 of this story.
Absolutely, even though this universe is so different from ours, the emotions and human struggles always find a way to connect with us. We’re already halfway through the journey! So exciting!!
@@Davinci_and_Bruixa I don't know how far ahead into the season the both of you are, but when you finish it you should watch some short videos by www.youtube.com/@PeyTalksAnime. He's been doing weekly breakdowns of Frieren since May and explains a lot of the reason why it's such an impactful anime compared to others, not in the lore of the story but in how masterful the direction, animation, sequence of events and timing made it as great as it is.
@@grimmturd I just noticed this comment was hidden, so I totally missed it until now!! Only two episodes left to finish!!! 🙈🙈🙈 I’ll definitely check it out, it sounds really interesting, thanks!!
First of all, I'm a little sorry if my English is a little strange because I don't understand English. The 16th story, Old Man Voll, was a sad one. He lost his wife, and now he himself is suffering from memory problems. In modern terms, it would be like Alzheimer's disease. Old Man Voll has almost forgotten his own wife and is no longer aware of his surroundings. However, after Old Man voll and Frieren have a pleasant conversation, as they part ways Old Man voll says that he had a dream about his wife, which gives Old Man voll some comfort. Sein's story after that turned into a joke and I laughed, but... Even so, I knew Kraft was no ordinary person, but I never imagined he was a hero who saved the world.
You don’t have to apologize! Our English isn’t perfect either haha It’s both sad and beautiful that at least Old Man Voll could dream about his wife again… I’d love to know more about Kraft’s story and what he did to save the world!

My native language is Japanese, but my Japanese is not perfect either ^^; >It's both sad and beautiful that at least Old Man Voll could dream about his wife again... That's certainly true. I'd like to know more about Kraft too. He seems like a mysterious character. The original author's manga seems to be on hiatus a lot, so it will likely take a long time to create something good, but I'll just wait patiently and hope that a sequel is made.
@@miyaisit4188 It always happens with good shows that the authors take a long time to finish them hahaha I thought it was a finished manga, but someone also let us know that the anime will probably have a second season, so let's hope it's soon! 🤞🤞
@@Davinci_and_Bruixa Yes. The anime adaptation apparently only covered up to the middle of volume 7 of the original manga. There are currently 13 volumes out. However, the original manga has been on hiatus a lot, and producing a good work takes time, so I'm hoping that they'll patiently wait and make a sequel.

🤣🤣🤣 I know!! He’s really sentimental deep down, but he has a hard time admitting it... 🥲🥲
