Phantom GX for me. I'm at a point where comfort is a top priority, my feet still hurt from my session this morning from wearing my narrower speed boots 😂
I find the mercurials to be surprisingly comfortable on my feet. Haven’t had a chance to try the gx tho!
My gx arrive today will be good too see the difference. Mercurials are always too tight for me but agree with jay. The air zoom is by far the best sole plate I’ve ever used would love for them to be on the gx
I wear mercs as well and I find that a good pair of grip socks can go a long way in stopping foot pain. Really recommend if you haven’t tried already.

Nah, favourite boot is the Morelia Neo III - and the only reason I choose Merc is the outsole. For the rest, I think I’m leaning towards the GX. /Jay

I'm using the mercurial superfly 9 (yellow) for about 4months now, played on both AG & FG field & it's really satisfied me.. really loves those airzoom tech.. real comfort, locked & secure for my feet.. the best boot I've ever had

Vapor 11 was the best, hands down.
Love that zoom tech comfort, also makes me want to run faster and put more pressure into the ground when bursting off. Best boot!
do mercurials run to true size or do they run smaller
These new vapors are amazing. First time they’re wide enough to where they don’t hurt my feet. Super aggressive cleat pattern on the vapors compared to the phantoms
they are too wide actually. not mercs anymore.

I wear a size 9 in Mercs and tiempos. I didn’t like the phantoms at first because the toe box just felts too pointy but I got the size 8.5 and problem solved! They feel absolutely amazing. If you are a first timer getting any of Nikes main 3. I highly suggest going somewhere and taking as much time needed to get your sizes down before purchase
same issue with me. Fit very great in 9 in mercs. I have phantom gx in 9 but have the feeling if i size down its fit much better. I might give that a go

@@jackpartridge7891 well if your toe hurts it might be best to try a size up. I like to get my boots as tight as possible when I start feeling pressure points that feel uncomfortable I go back up a half size.

i desperately need to know which boot is better for shooting/free kicks? im trying to decide between the 2 but its so difficult to decide
@@Kai88988 i say for sure the mercs are best for shooting. Based on my experience on the phantoms i didn’t like the way my feet felt for the shoe being a wide type fit. I got used to the snug fit and i felt as if my shots were more accurate in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Mercurial for performance and specialised comfort under feet. Mercs win all day when it comes to a very responsive yet comfortable boot.
Throughout my life Ive played with mercurials , phantom , adidas predator , and adidas X.. I can say by far the mercurials are way better than the rest in terms of feel its like playing barefoot you have all the freedom in the world with the ball
Hello Jay and Unisport fam and team, I know it is not a good question to ask but in your opinion do you think the GX outsole is okay to play on Artificial grass ? Is it grip the ground too much or the studs are little bit long for AG pitch.
The reason I ask this question are
1.In my country official store such as Nike are not bring AG outsole for sell ( it’s weird because I can strongly agree that more than 70% of population who play football are playing on AG pitches )
2.Related to N.1 question, they are online store who import the boots by themselves but most of them don’t stock AG outsole much or have few size and also some store that have my size they don’t open store that i can try they only sell it online.
Hopefully this question are not too long for you and really thank you for content that always really fun to watch and answer many people question.
Not sure if Nike has a "By You" program in your country, but where I'm at, they don't sell the AG sole plate on the standard models, but they'll let you choose to add an AG sole plate if you customize your own pair. It's a bit more expensive than non-custom versions, obviously, but I've found it to be pretty similar in price compared to buying AG Nikes from resellers, plus you get the benefit of buying straight from Nike should anything go wrong

I have the mercurial. My foot does spill over the sole plate a little in the right size so I may be willing to switch.
ive had peoblems with blisters playing soccer and kicking for the football team, Im just a kid so moneys tight but my mom went in with me to find some because I need the comfort, my old shoes were 8.5 so i went a size up to 9 hopefully they fit well☺️

I want to add a problem that i really felt ingame on the phantoms. I had a problem with the speed, the insole is just not my type. Its very thin and you can feel the studs through the sole it is also very flexible which can be an advantage or a disadvantage.

Nike phantom gx sg pro player edition is the shoe to go with then. It doesnt have airzoom but its more snappy.

does the GX have alot of volume in the mid foot ? i have a very low profile thin foot and alot of the boots ive tried have too much space in the mid foot and when i lace it it crumples at the top.

Wich boot do you recommend for narrow, flat feet. I have a problem finding a good fitting one. The one that fits my feet the best is Puma Utra, but they dig into my toe when walking, running and hurts after awhile.

In my opinion merc is very comfortable for me I have struggled all my life finding the right boots because I have a wide foot but when I put on the Superfly 9 it was love at first sight I love how snug it feels I like the boot to be nice and tight because I like to feel like I can feel the ball so that’s just my opinion
Whoever says they are uncomfortable and narrow dont know what they are talking about! Ive had phantoms and tiempos in the past but my mercurial vapor 14s are so much more comfortable

I am switching over to Nike for the first time in my 21 year old life ! Adidas really disappointed with the speed portals. So i wear a 7M in jordan 1s , wore a 7.5 in adidas cleats . Should i switch to 7.5 in Nike then ?? Am going for Mecurial Superfly 9

I have been using phantom gx (Academy) for a while now and I must say, they're some amazing boots but now I have ordered some mercurials because I accidentally ordered the gx with metal cleats and I had to replace them with some high and thick cleats and they just don't feel nice, looking forward to the mercurial
Would you say the Phantom GX's AG outsole is a lot safer than the Mercurial's AG outsole?
Don’t think so, the Mercurial’s AG only has 2 blades in the heel but that won’t be a problem .
I like the mercs, not for the fit or anything because I’m not too picky, for the look😂

Playing in the same position, DM. Foot is semi wide I'd say. I grabbed myself a merc vapor 15. Tried both and I can say that for myself, merc lockdown is more aggressive and secured with barefoot feeling. Phantom GX is more relaxed and while the grip on the outside is good, but I always have that "insecure" feeling when i'm wearing them as they're not locking down as much as merc. Ultimately its up to you if you want more relaxed or firm lockdown.

Mercurials are a bit more Wide and the upper is tall, but shorter on the tip, phantoms are larger, tight, and low, just for skinny feet, mercs are more like open to wider feet than phantoms
