    He's got more post moves than most centers today

    This cat is a student of the game....I love the fact that he can use players that are superior athletes only because he is smart. Every young basketball player should study his game.

      +Shawn Osier This is why I have such high hopes for D'Angelo Russell of the Lakers. His floor is DEFINITELY this guy right here! His ceiling, nobody really knows until he finally breaks in his NBA body in a couple years. Miller is the type of guard who other guards that rely too much on their athleticism early in their careers need to learn from the moment it leaves them for good. Longevity is so important in the NBA it really can't be stressed enough in my honest opinion.
      :-)

      +PeekaPeep druss and the professor are two completely different types of players, I honestly don't see how the professor is druss's 'floor'.

      @PeekaPeep 9 років тому

      Isaac Bai Keep track of D'Angelo's progress this season and you'll see what I'm talking about.

      PeekaPeep
      no I won't be able to see what you are talking about, and I have seen enough of him to say this. Unless all of a sudden druss somehow turns into a post up player, and prioritize driving and post ups over jump shots, the comparison is inaccurate.

    • @PeekaPeep
      @PeekaPeep 9 років тому

      +Isaac Bai Not even REMOTELY what I meant, lol! I meant Russell, like Miller, doesn't rely on pure athleticism or blazing speed to get the edge over his defender. Both play an old-school. fundamentally sound brand of basketball that is rarely taught among the younger generation today. THAT'S what I was talking about.
      And to say you have seen enough from a 19-year old rookie who's barely played his 8th official NBA game is pretty arrogant on your part, if not blatantly ignorant altogether. Oh well, people think they know right away all there is to know about someone...until they finally come to the realization that they didn't know anything about that someone at all, heh.

    I love Andre Miller. Half the time he shoots the ball, it hits every part of the rim before it goes in.

    Are you kidding me? I can't believe my eyes when he was doing low post on Harrison Barnes... 6'2 vs 6'8...

    • @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains

      thats the only thing he can do. only fundamentals and post up

      +GilxSullinger saying it like that's a bad thing.

    • @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains
      @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains 8 років тому

      +Derryan Sanford in this generation is really a bad thing for guards.
      guards are the main tool for spacing the floor and responsible for getting 3 pt shot. trying to post up is basically doing ur pf and center job.
      if you cant shoot you csnt space the floor for ur teammates and puttin more pressure on them as defense dont bother with you without the ball.

    • @DJSANFORD5
      @DJSANFORD5 8 років тому

      +GilxSullinger True that's why he was never a real deal guard he lacked a jumpshot and athleticism.

    • @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains
      @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains 8 років тому +1

      +Derryan Sanford erm.. he was pretty fast when he was younger..and almost rely too much on it. but shooting part you are right.
      he might have been better if he played under illegal defense rule. nba automatically helps you with spacing problem, ppl can post up more often.

    Whenever I tell ppl who I modeled my game after when I was at my best it was a mix of Andre miller and Paul pierce I didn't have the athleticism but I was crafty

    The way he commands his space is Incredible once he gets into your body. No need for crazy vert if he beats you to the spot you want to leap from or gives you contact along with the hesi

    man i loved watching him play anyone that isnt athletic should look up tape on andre miller and study how he reads and influences the game....if youre young and you eventually have a growth spert or etc your going to be happy you modeled some of your initial game off someone so fundamentally sound....if you understood the muse cage bs kobe was going on about this is one of the players the mamba would say was also not just a game reader but a game writer, they all dont have to be hardens or westbrooks....also the difference between "creating contact" and not being afraid of contact is something to note and have a keen understanding of the differences between them......look at andre hes a prime example of an og that is "not afraid of contact" not what you would call the IMO opposite aka "creates contact"...it might look like hes avoiding contact with his moves but in reality the contact he creates with his leans etc in the post are what creates half his looks. Let alone that he was never afraid to put his head down and attack the paint

      Lol I wouldn't go that far man but the word in this vid epitomizes him...savy. He isn't the most athletic in the world nor is he a great shooter but his body control, his ability to read the defense and play the game with intelligence is amazing. Was lucky enough to see his old school skills here in Portland for a few years
