Here is the problem. Once you apply the glue and have it set, you still risk the cpu falling off from the mount when you roll over rough terrain. While the replacement stayed attached, it somehow will break off from the garmin mount. This happened to me twice (two different garmin mounts). Lucky I had the garmin cord attached.
1. Don't put one side of the clamp against the screen! Put a rigid material larger than the face of the garmin across it and clamp against that. 2. Put the screws back in for additional support.
when in doubt epoxy is always the way to go, amazing stuff
Also you could have installed the screws right after applying epoxy. Epoxy might act as a thread lock.

Loose screws due to not having a tread lock. If screws had not loosened maybe adapter would have not come off?
