  • Dock Leaves! I followed all the rules and did a careful dye bath, but still ... the results were more than disappointing. What came to the rescue? A fiber reactive dye from Dharma! Ah well ... I caved and used something besides a natural dye. And result was just what I was hoping for!

You have great dock!! I acquired a lot of funny stories in my quest for green. I am so enjoying your experiments. You cheered me up this morning.

I had to laugh when you said you added some new rusty nails to your iron solution. You got a great deal on those acid dyes. Natural vs. chemical are completely different art forms. You did a great job with the green. It looks great with your natural colors. There are no natural dye police. We can do whatever we need to do to make it work. Don’t get discouraged, you will get a natural green! Lucy , Lucy ,Lucy . She is such a riot. I think it’s her name. Have a great day.

Thank you, Nancy :) I do think that green will blend in with the naturally dyed yarns, and in time I will forget! Lucy's last antic is an attraction to Doggie, my dearly beloved stuffed animal from my infancy. He's repaired, but delicate. Now I have to close my bedroom door all the time, to keep Lucy away from her new love!
